Hi and Welcome to Fixya, If you can't see any video on the preview screen of your IDVDR, all you have to do is check your settings. Open your IDVDR and choose go directly to advance mode. Click on Pinnacle file capture pull down arrow and then choose dazzle dvc 100. Now click on Option and check the video cable connection. If S-Video click on S-Video if Composite then click on composite. Make sure that the camcorder is on and running. If you used VCR please connect the cable at the back of your VCR. I am running on a Dell XPS and my dazzle dvd recorder wont work.

Hi and Welcome to fixya!

I suggest to you to double click on Instant DVD Recorder Icon and choose go directly to Advance mode. Click next. On step number 1 click the pull down arrow and choose dazzle DVC 100. Click on options and choose video input. If your cable connection is the yellow red and white cable then choose Video composite, If S-video cable then choose Video S-video. If you have a VHS player click VHS input and click okay.
Next when everything is done turn your camcorder, vhs, vcr and then hit the play button.

That is the time that the video image is showing to the preview screen of the computer. Still not showing disconnect the dazzle device and place to another usb port.

If your dazzle device is not showing under step number one, you need to download and install the driver to Pinnacle Website.

No video on preview screen

I have seen that before with Dazzle. See if there is an update to take care of that. I tossed that software package and went with Studio, which is much better - that is also a Pinnacle product.
