Hello
Ok, firstly, tis sounds to me ike a battery problem. When last have you changed the camera batteries?
And if the camera goes on after you have charged it, does it actually function normally?
Also, you need to remember, that your camera needs certain batteries to operate normally. Alkaline batteries will not do the trick, you need rechargable lithium or NiMH batteries. Please give mefeedback.
Please do not hessitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.
Kind regards
Andrea
Hello Tom
Yes, this sounds like a battery plate problem, this can be repaired for about $10, another thing you can try is to keep the camera plugged into the ac charger while you try downloading the photo's to your computer.
As for the battery plate, just take the camera back to the point of purchase, if it is still in the warrenty period, they will repair it for free, otherwize, it usually cost about $10.
Kind regards

This problem exists with new lithium batteries. With plugging into AC adaptor overnight, unit temporarily works fine, lens extends, and buttons work, but internal memory is full. I want to move photos from internal memory to laptop, but unit does have power long enough to do so. I tried opening unit within last hour, and saw tiny button battery on top of circuit board, in top of camera. I do not know if this can be replaced, if it is dead, as the metal contact seems to be soldered to top of battery.

Possibly. I will see if battery plate can be fixed/replaced, and if this solves problem.
