Have you had a software upgrade? I had exactly the same problem with a brand new 3rd gen iTouch and it turned out to be a problem with the itouch and the wifi encryption. Mine showed it was connected to the network but wouldn't access anything (invalid argument etc). I tried everything but no joy. Eventually I fixed it by changing the router's encryption from WEP to WPA2-PSK. Fixed it like magic. Where there had been no router or DNA data before, they were suddenly filled in. The key was different but was still on the bottom of the router. I had to re-enter the key on my wireless laptopMy Ipod touch is not connecting to a wifi which - 2_bing.gif but that was a small price.

You can get into the router set-up page through your web browser. I found a guide on You Tube.

Good luck!

Ipod will not connect to wifi

Connect to WiFi for Your Apple iPod touch b> The iPod touch has the ability to connect to Wi-Fi networks, giving you access to information while on the go. The iPod detects both protected and unprotected networks, and can remember which Wi-Fi networks you have used before, eliminating the need to enter passwords more than once. Your iPod touch should automatically detect wireless networks, but you can also manually connect to a network or switch to a new one.

Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen and tap the "Wi-Fi" button. Tap the "On/Off" button to turn your Wi-Fi on. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen. Tap the Safari Web Browser application or any other application that requires Internet access. A list will automatically open on your screen that names all available networks. Tap the network you wish to use from the list. The networks listed are all wireless networks detected by the iPod. Protected networks will have lock icons to the right of their names. Enter the password if the network you have selected is protected. Your iPod touch will store this password for future use. Type in the name of the network you wish to use if it is not listed. A network that is set to not broadcast will not show up on the list of available networks. Check the top left of the screen for the Wi-Fi icon to be sure you have connected. The number of bars on the icon indicates the strength of the signal. b> Manually Connect Tap the "Settings" icon on the home screen and tap the "Wi-Fi" button. Tap the "On/Off" button to turn your Wi-Fi on. Tap a network listed under "Choose a Network..." The networks listed are all wireless networks detected by the iPod. Protected networks will have lock icons to the right of their names. Enter the password if the network you have selected is protected. Your iPod touch will store this password for future use. Type in the name of the network you wish to use if it is not listed. A network set not to broadcast will not show up on the list of available networks. Check the top left of the screen for the Wi-Fi icon to be sure you have connected. The number of bars on the icon indicates the strength of the signal.

I cannot connect my ipod touch to my router how do i connect it?

First you'll need to turn on your Wi-Fi.

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then (turn WiFi on)
2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new network: Choose (WiFi) and turn (Ask to Join Networks) ON or OFF.

Then you'll need to join a WiFi network (your D-Link for instance)

1. Choose (Settings) then (WiFi) then wait until your D-Link shows up in the list of networks.
2. Select your network and if you have a password for your router make sure you type it. (networks that require a password have a lock icon next to it) then tap (join)

Once you join a WiFi network manually, iPod touch will automatically connect to it whenever the network is in range. If more than one previously used network is in range, iPod touch joins the one last used.

When iPod touch is connected to a WiFi network, the WiFi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.

Good Luck

Ipod touch won't connect to my wifi

things to check again:
1- if DHCP enabled 2- which type of security encryption is used, if WEP change to WPA, use numbers instead of mixed characters for wifi password 3- if MAC filtering is on on the router 4- if signal strength is good
hope that any one of the above solves your problem

Just bought one from my freind ,how do i get the internet working on it

iPod touch gets its internet from WiFi signal that it captures. If you don't have WiFi around you, you will not be able to connect to the internet.

To see if there are available WiFi connections around you, here's what you gotta do:
>on your iPod touch screen, go to Settings
>once the Settings window opens, you'll see Wi-Fi next to Airplane Mode (from the top). If your current not connected to any WiFi signal, it should say not connected beside it.
>tap on Wi-Fi and choose from the available networks on the list, but make sure that Wi-Fi is turned ON, first. If in case there's no WiFi signal around you, you still won't be able to browse the web.
>tap on any network from the list. often times, WiFi signals are secured, which means you should know the password to be able to connect, otherwise, you'll still get nothing.
you'll know that you're already connected when there's a check symbol on the left side of the network that you've just selected, and also, the WiFi symbol appears beside your carrier name.

Once you're connected, just exit the Settings window and go to Safari to browse the web.

No wi fi for itouch

Usually, all iPods have a WiFi chip imbedded in the device so you have to pay nothing except for your currently active Wireless internet connection. Try checking your modem and making sure it's working for starters. If it is, then go on the iPod and go to settings, then internet connections. Select a valid internet connection and it should automatically connect, given a good signal strength.

If this helped/didn't help, let me know.
