When I connect my nikon coolpix s560 to my powerbook it doesn't transfer to iphoto automatically. My older version coolpix had no problem with this. Is this a setting issue or do I have to use the nikon transfer software which does not automatically send photos into iphoto

Lost my cd-rom disc for my Nikon s560 how can i get a free download program online?

You can download the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from
http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Nikon coolpix s210 will not connect to mac

I have a Intel Mac Powerbook running OS10.5.8
On a coolpix 100, the default setting is that the camera is charged by the computer through the USB cable. You need switch that OFF.
While the camera still does not show as usb device, you can access it through the Nikon transfer program AND through iPhoto

Nikon Coolpix S10 setting up software

You need to have a mac compatible driver installed for the camera as that could be one of the reason its not accepting the command.
