My Kodak C813 won't take any pictures.

Try changing the mode to video, and back to snapshots.

It seems that there is a problem with the rotary mode selector switch. Could be dirt or a faulty contact. Self repair is inadvised. Might be cheaper to replace the unit, and keep the C813 as a still only camera.

I am not sure the Kodak EasyShare C813 can transfer files straight from the internal memory. Many cameras need you to copy the images on the internal memory to a memory card and then you can transfer them over.

On the Kodak you can copy (not move) them to a memory card by following the instructions below:

Copy pictures/videos:

1 Press the Review button, then the Menu button.

2 Press ^ v to highlight Copy, then press OK.

3 Press ^ v to highlight an option.

4 Press OK.

You don't really need the Kodak software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Kodak's, or Picasa.

Is your lens clean? Are you pressing the shutter button half-way and allowing the camera to lock in the focus before pressing the rest of the way? Is the lens coming out correctly?

Kodak Easyshare C813 can only take picture, transferred pictures and video to your computer and record video. C813 cannot be use as a webcam if you'll like a kodak webcam you can check this products like Kodak S100 webcam, Kodak W100 webcam and T130 webcam. There is a limit to how much data can be transferred at the same time.
I suggest to transferre in intervals.

Click the menu button. The first option on the menu is the self timer. Click the ok button. Select your time then set up the camera and click The "take the picture button" ;)
