The instruction manual for the Dewalt DWS773-GB saw states the following on page 8:

DATE CODE POSITION (FIG. 2)
The Date Code (v v), which also includes the year of manufacture, is
printed into the housing.

Look at Figure 2 (on page 1) in the instruction manual.. The date code is identified on the figure as 0000 00-00, area v v.

Most hammer drills on battery from brand Dewalt have its serial number in one of the yellow shell parts its a build code of the shells only under the battery holder also the year of build date stands there too it have the same function, I myself have long wondered too, because some Dewalt tools have a real serialnumber is it not fully clear why there is sometimes not and sometimes a full number to find, i have asked that also on Stanley Dewalt in Belgium. Ser 030942 on this picture but i know maybe you see a clear yellow line in black on the information sticker where you think there should be placed the number and they forget you will find no real number but always you can use the 2 3number code with year of build in one of both shells under batteryholder .

There is no data included in the serial number that gives info of what year the engine was made. You can, however look up the number here, and that will tell you the year of manufactor.

The date of manufacture is determined by the SERIAL number. The following link explains how to determine the age of your appliance:

Look at the first two LETTERS of the serial number. According to the info I provided, your washer was manufactured in March of 2007 if its a fairly recent model. If it appears older, it may have been manufactured in either 1995 or 1983. These serial number formats get recycled about every 12 years.
