I have an R4 card. all games have been working fine until now, newer games like icarly amd bookworm show up, load but then screen goes black and game goes no further. Any ideas? mel

Th fix this problem hold select over the game you want to play and whilst holding select press right then load the game. If it doesn't work keep repeating.

it is beacuse the games are more recent/newer than the r4 version 1.3 so it cant support thewm, all you need 2 do is go onto the r4 offical site and download the newest r4 version and then the games will/ should work fine :)

Try reinstalling the R4 firmware and the game ROMs that don't work any more and see if that takes care of it. This is assuming that the games worked before...
If you've never tried them before now, it's possible that the games just don't work right with the R4 cards. Unfortunately, I've found that a number of newer releases don't work with my R4 card. You may be experiencing the same situation.
Another point, make sure that you have the newest firmware for your card...
The only thing i can suggest is to go to the site that is on your card and download the new firmware for your card, it maybe that you just need to update your card, if that dont work you may need to buy a new card, i would not leave your card in the nds if you are not using it for a while, take it out, dont leave it in the nds, it maybe that the contacts are worn.
The last official firmware for the original R4 was v1.18, the R4 SDHC needed different firmware as it's from a different manufacturer. You need the 1.34 software available from this download page if you have the real black box one: R4 Firmware
