Repair the GoGear - warning: this will delete all files from your player.
1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

I don't have the Philips Programme. I brought the player off ebay and wasn't given a disc or anything to use. She told me about a programme called Herbert which I downloaded and was using that until it froze.
I downloaded the PC Software from that link and tried to follow your instructions. There isn't a Repair Tab that I could see so we tried the Restore tab, however it says that I am not connected when I am.
Could it be because of Herbert, the programme I currently have installed to put tracks onto the player??
We did a Integrity Check and all the files on it was unable to use so they have all been deleted and the Philips Welcome Scren is no longer stuck although all my tracks have now gone :(
Atleast it is working though! yay!
Thanks for your help, if i have any more problems i will definately come back for your help.
