Phillips HDD120/05 I was adding music to my new mp3 player, and Herbert the programme i was using to put music onto the player closed and then the Phillips welcome screen is stuck and it won't go any further than that. I have tried letting the power run out and i plugged in the usb lead and the charger to turn it on and tried to install the HDD files to start again but a error message with "Unable to install HDD files to this device" comes onto the screen. I read to someone else that it may be needed to be sent back to Phillips to sort it out but I am still not sure of what exactly I need to do.

Bearshare is a program that can be used to download and listen to audio files on your computer. You can also use Bearshare to put music directly onto your iPod or portable music player. Using Bearshare to add songs to your iPod will save you the time of having to search for your downloaded files using iTunes. By using Bearshare, you can download a new song and place that song directly onto your iPod without having to open another software program.

Download the latest version of Bearshare (see Below). http://www.bearshare.com/ Install Bearshare onto your computer. When you do, Bearshare will search for audio files that are already on your computer. The program will then add those files to the "My Library" portion of Bearshare. Open Bearshare. Click the "iPod/Mp3 Player" option on the left side of Bearshare. Plug your iPod into your computer. A dialog box will open on your screen. Click "OK." The "iPod/Mp3 Player" option will be replaced with the name of your iPod. Click the "My Library" option in the top left corner of Bearshare. Any songs that you added when installing Bearshare or that you have downloaded with Bearshare will appear on the screen. Click on the song and then drag the file over to the name of your iPod found on the left side of the screen. Doing so will add that song to your iPod. Continue doing this until you are finished adding songs to your iPod. Disconnect the iPod and close Bearshare.

Is there only certain music or all of them? Maybe it can't read the format of the music.

There are of number ways to get Mp3's. You can use W**dows Media player - open Media player and right click at any part of the top bar click on tools and then click options, look for the Rip music tap and click that. Now look for rip music to this location chose a folder to put your music in. Then look at the format button and chose mp3. Click the Rip CD when inserted and close it all up. Then put in a cd you want to rip, then once it is thru copy your new mp3's onto your MP3 player - done.

If some CD came with it, pop in the CD and do what it tells you to. If not, than you can use Windows Media Player and sync the music from there. There is a small "Sync" tab on the top of the media player, and plug in your device and it will recognize than you start putting the songs on it.

try formating the mp3 player and then get the new frimware for it and the putting the songs back on there were did you get the song from

If you're using Windows, then use Windows Media player to rip your music into WMA. If you don't want to do that, use CDdex to rip your music from CD to MP3. The problem probably lies in whatever program your using to rip your music. To your player. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Use Windows Media Player to transfer songs - the programs on the installation CD are not used for transferring - they are only used for repairing the occasional malfucntion

Dear iriver users,

When I frist drag and dropped pictures onto iriver, nothing showed up. With more playing around, I discovered, frustratingly!..that I can download pictures onto WMP and sync it with my iriver that way. That is the only solution I have found, even though it seems possible with the drag n'drop!

Hi there Well i tried this and it worked Install net framework 2 (from microsoft) Also if you don't want to use the rubbish softward provided Download a programme called HERBERT Select your HDD 120 hard drive from my computer and install HERBERT on there - creat a shorcut of HERBERT to your desktop & you can put albums etc from that (you do have to ensure you have the latest firmware installed - Herbert can do this for you as well Then you should be ready to go - its a lot faster than DMM!!
