Picture problem My tv was bought in 2003.Last night Feb.9 08 the picture now has 2 blue swoops on the top and a faint one on bottom.

Bad convergence ic's. STK392-110 an open 2.2 or 3.3 ohm resistors.

The main coupling capacitor feeding the frame scan coils has failed or the output stage on the frame stage has failed due to dry capacitors or dry joints.
Fault finding and components are not a problem and yes it is very repairable. Any technician that knows how television works can repair this standard frame output stage.

The magic focus button don't work.The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv colors lines R,G,B mis alignment,have colors shadows or 3D pictures.The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.These parts,must be replaced on the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Hi,it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem.This is how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo So basically the 3 Lcd chips that create the colors and image is going bad and thats why you get that color discoloration.Contact Hitachi or look for your light engine online.God bless you and your house!

the ITC222 and ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com usually repairs that issue. The kit contains the parts and the CD with instructions

Your TV needs the Convergence Amp IC's replaced.Call a good TV Tech for an estimate. Should not cost over $325.

You have a failure in the convergence circuit. There's a circuit board ( the convergence board) which has 3 IC'c on it that drive yokes on each of the picture tubes red-green- blue. You probably lost power to these IC's or one or more may have opened up. Sometimes poor solder joints on these IC's will develop causing loss of convergence.
