Sounds like you may have a flooding problem, when gasoline gets into combustion chamber in liquid form it causes a hydrolic lock. Try emptying the tank, remove the plug and pull it till all the loquid fuel is out, then put the plug back in and try to start with just the fumes in the talk. If that does not help, remove the muffler and inspect the ehaust ports for carbon build up[ and of courde scoring of the piston or hung ring.

My Ryobi S430 is very hard to pull the starter rope.

Remove spark plug and try again. If still hard to pull then most likely it needs new a new recoil starter.

My br600 backpack blower is almost impossible to pull

Likely the recoil starter is kaput. Removing spark plug so there's no compression, then pull starter. If it's still hard pull, remove recoil starter assembly and spin engine by hand. If engine spins freely, replace recoil start.

3hp briggs and stratton push mower/pull rope does not engage and turn over engine

if its the old 3hp engine then they have a starter clutch fixed to the crank shaft. they have ball bearings inside and can sometimes get stuck or the gears can wear out. you would need a special tool to remove the starter clutch but you can prise off the top plate on the clutch to inspect the internal workings

I tried to start the pressure washer by lulling the cord, there was sharp popping noise, and the engine would not crank to start. It is a Honda K. washer. What went wrong? Pls advise, thanks.

Make sure your oil level is correct and not overfull. If ok, pull the sparkplug out. Then, pull the starter rope to see if the engine spins freely. If it does, pull it 4-5 more times to clear the cylinder of oil or gas. Put the plug back in and try it again.
However, if the rope fails to pull freely, you either have a locked engine or pump. You will have to seperate the pump from the engine to determine which is locked up.

I 'm trying to pull the rope and it will barely--honda pressure w

The rope may be bound up in the recoil. Take the recoil cover off(the piece where the pull rope goes into) and try to pull the rope with the housing off. If it pulls freely try turning the engine by hand, you may want to remove the spark plug to release the compression. If the unit will not turn over, then the pressure pump may have failed. Best of luck.

Rope hard to pull, engine spins freely with plug removed

First off Husqvarna does not make Craftsman chainsaws. Chainsaws are very high compression usually 125 to 150 lbs. pulling the rope slowly will make it very hard to pull. Short fast pulls are best, this allow the flywheel to build momentum to get it past the compression portion of the piston trvavel.

Starter rope will not pull. Will pull smoothly

If I understand what you are saying... The starter pulls smoothly with the starter cover removed or when installed and the plug removed (no compression or spark). If this is correct I think your saw's timing has slipped or maybe a defective decomp valve. Time to visit your neighborhood chainsaw seller/mechanic.HTH

Cannot pull the pull rope. Feels like motor is froze but when I pull the pull rope cover off the pull rope pulls freely and I can turn the fly wheel by hand easily. Put everthing back togeather it will not...

PISTON COULD BE SEIZED DUE TO LOW OR NO OIL MIXTURE,ALSO IT COULD HAVE FUEL IN THE CHAMBER,FIRST REMOVE SPARK PLUG--NOW TRY TO PULL IT--HINT,STICK A SMALL SCREWDRIVER IN THE HOLE AND SEE IF THE PISTON RAISES AND LOWERS,,IF IT WILL RAISE/LOWER BY MANUALLY TURNING THE CRANKSHAFT,THEN THE PROBLEM IS IN YOUR INNER PULL ROPE ASSY.(THERE ARE DOG EARS INSIDE THAT SPIN OUT AND GRAB THE FLYWHEEL WHEN IT TURNS)

VERY difficult to pull starter rope

Check that engine spins freely with sparkplug removed
Suspect build up of gum in bore causing high compression.
Cause probably use of "watercooled" 2 stroke oil (intended for outboard ). Not getting hot enough to burn off gum.
