Other than RAM there are also other things to be considered to be able to experience great gaming experience. Commonly the slow and laggy experience are due to insufficient RAM, low video memory, internet connction if your playing online,disk space and processor. And no its nor a driver issue. The best way is to solve this is to check the recommended "system requirements" of the games your playing. Yeah this series of Lenovo's 3000 is using a webcam of another manufacturer. So Vista can't detect it because by default Vista doesn't have its driver. So I recommend you to go to Lenovo's website & then go to DRIVERS & DOWNLOAD section...and then enter your model number..

After that it will display u whole list of drivers available for this laptop.
And then you can download your webcam's driver for VISTA 32 BIT...
Install that and it will surely fix your problem.
