Cant upload because computer wont read it

How are you connecting the camera to the computer. This is important to help troubleshoot? What kind of computer are you using also ( windows/ Mac) and what operating system are you using. (Windows 7, windows vista, windows xp)?

Do what the pros do...use a card reader instead of the camera.

Did your friend use the "safely remove hardware" function when removing your card from her computer? That could corrupt your card if she didn't. Try this...take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. They can usually read everything on a card. There, you can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Afterwards, format your card in your camera.

There is probably software that came with your camera that you can install for automatic reading --if so you need to visit their webpage to see if a driver update is available before you use it.

I may have a solution on uploading your photos.try to re-install your digital camera softwere drivers. that will let your computer identify the usb.

What was the solution? I have the same problem.

okay ive had my a345 since christams and all has been good until recently when i tryed to upload my pictures. the camera when plugged in will say "checking usb" then it will say "communication error" something will come up and say "choose program to upload photos" and there isnt a program is it because i set my computer back and dont have the cd? i download picasa but it still wont upload.help please.
