I just bought a newer "Kenmore" Gas range. my probem is it is set up for natural gas and i use LP gas. Well it came with the LP gas conversion kit. I followed the directions carefully and the range-top burners seem fine but when i go to use the oven the glowing igniter works and when the gas valve opens the flames are i belive to big. They reach into the oven area through the ovens bottom vents. The instructions have me turning down the "Spud" on the "Oven burner orifice" counter-clockwise until snug against the "LP/propane metering pin" arund two and a half turns. I dont want to break it but you really cant see the top of the lpgas metering pin. Any help would be great

Remember this: Crank down and flip. You must tighten down all the top and the oven valve orifices and open all the hutters and flip the nut on the regulator. crank down and flip.

Conversion of Kenmore Elite Gas Range 790.7523 from Natural gas to propane.

each burner has a natural gas jet or (orifice) as you pull them out, one atb a time. You should be able to color coordinate them at that point. the jets will be at the end of each gas line right before the burner. and each burner gets one. I haven't seen the model you are referring to. but the ones i have changed out in the past, usually the hole is the same size for all the burners no matter the size of the burners. I hope this helps. good luck with it!

I need to find a conversion kit for my kenmore 790 range to switch from propane to natural gas. Where do i find it?

Most Kenmore ranges ship with the NG to LP conversion kit attached to the range. The conversion kit and instructions are in a bag and should be tied to the back near the regulator or behind the storage drawer. The installer who did the conversion was supposed to put the kit back with the original orifices in the bag.

If you do not have the kit, try looking for the manual at http://www.managemyhome.com/mmh/owner_manuals?intcmpMMHxG_HomexServices_Menu and ordering the conversion kit from http://www.searspartsdirect.com/ .

I hope this helps.

How do i convert my 790.71011200 kenmore range from natural gas to LP?

Hi,
After looking high and low for a conversion kit I finally looked up the installation manual for your range. AND gues what!! you have everything you need there!! Just follow the instructions in the installation manual for conversion over to LP.

Download the installation manual here if you do not have yours. The instructions are in the back pages 9 & 10.

Have fun!!

Changing from natural gas to lp.

By getting a gas license! LOL

Remember to tip your waitress! I'll be here all week - Goodnight!

Alright...got it out of my system...here we go:

1. Find out if a conversion kit exists. Answer: Yes it does...in fact it came with it originally. If it had me doing the install, I would have taped the kit to the back of the range.
http://www.fixya.com/support/p106248-kitchenaid_kgsa906pss_gas_kitchen_range/manual-13680/page-7

....and I quote, "IMPORTANT: Your cooktop is factory-set for use with natural gas. If you wish to use L.P. Gas, an L.P. Gas Conversion Kit is included with your new range. Models with the TripleTier Flame Burner will include a TripleTier L.P. Gas Conversion Kit and a kit for standard ranges. See “Installation Instructions” for details on making this conversion.
2. Obtain the kit. This is more difficult than actually doing the conversion. Unless you have a dealer nearby, I'd simply call Kitchenaid directly: (1.800.461.5681) They will either send it to you directly (quite possibly for FREE) or point you in the right direction.
3. The kit will come with instructions, but briefly, here's what you're getting into: The kit will consist of 1-3 orifices. These will reduce the amount of flow going to the burner(s).
Why? Two reasons: a) Propane burns hotter and b) Propane moves quicker than N.G.
You might need: Allan Keys, Screwdrivers, Channel Locks, Adjustable Wrench.
You'll just disassemble the manifold, install the orifice(s), and GO!

Good Luck.
