Toshiba Regza 37in - 37HL17
TV will not turn on Yellow power ind. Light blinks three times...
Fixed with a firmware update (hard to believe, but true). Search Google for a file named: 2007SEN069.zip (don't worry if the page you find it on doesn't mention the 37HL17 - it worked fine). Unzip the file, and copy the 3 folders and 3 files to the root of a small SD card. The SD card MUST be 2GB or less in size (I used a 1GB card), and it MUST be formatted with FAT-16 (not FAT-32). Mine was pre-formatted as FAT (FAT-16). The SD port is on the back of the TV behind a cover plate near the power cable. You do NOT need to remove the back cover of the TV, just the small cover plate (1 screw). UNPLUG the TV; remove the cover plate; insert the SD card (prepped as explained above); Plug in the TV; Watch the yellow lights blink, then turn blue, then go dark; UNPLUG the TV; remove the SD Card and replace the cover; Plug in the TV; Yellow lights will blink a few times (this is normal); when blinking stops, turn on the TV and you should be good to go. :-)

You can't by-pass a seine module. This is a control module. They are difficult to obtain also.

You don't "bypass" it, you REMOVE it. It runs the rabbit ears, nothing more.

Sony Model No X935D - Red Light blinking 4 times

Is the TV on but you do not have a picture? put a flashlight up to the screen in a dark room. If you can see a picture it is the LEDs that are bad. It could also be a bad power supply in the tv. There are a number of possibilities that it can be that would need to be diagnosed. Most TV repair shops will charge a fee to do this. most will offer a similar TV replacement for a small fee if you trade your current TV. I had similar issues with samsung tvs. I went through every part inside the TV and found out that the LEDs were bad.

Sony XBR34* 7 blinks in standby mode, won't turn on

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. Right now the TV is flashing a error trouble code. Only someone with the Service Manual for the TV will know what the code means. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2
. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
3. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Sharp Aquos 32GA5U red blinking light in front but no picture!!!

Right now your TV is in " Protection Mode " because of a failed part inside. The blinking red light is a error trouble code. Only someone with the actual Service Manual for the TV will know what the code means. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common board to go bad is the Backlight Inverter Board. It what supplies power to the screen. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. My toshiba 42HL167 won't turn on

Try this fix from the toshiba website. Q. I have no picture or sound, but I have a blinking power light?

1. Try resetting the TV by disconnecting the power for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. If this has no
effect, try moving the TV to a different power outlet that has been tested and is known to be good.
2. If your unit continues to fail, please contact our Customer Solutions Department at 1-800-631-3811 Monday

Yellow light blinking - blank screen - won't turn on

The problem is with the signal board. Basically, it is not allowing the power signal to go from the on button from the set or the remote to the TV. I am having the exact same problem with my 42" LCD Regza. Currently, if you are under warranty, Toshiba does not have these in stock. They will not have them available to send until early January. My TV has been at the repair shop since December 4th. I am very upset as I won't be able to watch the bowl games in HD. If your set is still under warranty then call Toshiba help line at 800-575-5469. You will need the model number of yout TV that is listed on the front of the owner's manual. They are:
27HL67
32HL67
32HL67U
37HL67
42HL67

The first number will be the giveaway as to which model you have. It is the size of your set. They will ask you to try a hard reset. (Hold pwer button down for 5 seconds until you see the yellow light go solid and go off.) This will most likely not work. If it does, you are lucky. I found that if you unplug the TV for an extened period of time, ie overnight, ity may come back on. It will eventually give out completely though. Better to get the problem addressed with the manufacturer. If you are not under warranty then I do not know what to tell you. Right now I am searching the internet to see if I can find this part to maybe purchase myself. Only if it is not too costly. If I find anything I will post here for all. If you have any questions, feel free to email me a [email protected] and I might be able to give you more details on your problem. Good Luck.
