Trying to hook up magnavoc Dv220mw9 to my cable box & tv

I bought a new magnavox DV220MW9 dvd/cd player with video cassett recorder. I have no idea of how to hook this up to my tv, and cable box. My old vcr that is hooked up now has a coxial cable coming from the wal cable to my cable box and then another coxial cable from my cable box to tv. With this new box there are three cables (red, white and yellow.) Do these have to be hooked up. I have looked at diagrams on how to install but still confused. Can you help in any way to make it an easy process to hook up this new unit to my tv and cable box. Please help if you can. THANKS!!!

Magnavox DV220mw9 won't record from Tv, hard to connect

check out this diagram, paying close attention to the audio video cable hookups.

assume the cable tv box represents the converter box

you are going to come out of the converter box audio and video outputs into the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo audio and video inputs.

Then out of the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo outputs to the inputs on the tv if it has such inputs. The TV will have to operate on the video input 1 or 2 if the tv has such a thing, use the remote for the tv to adjust the input signal to line in 1 or 2 depending on what it has.

If the tv has no coaxial input or audio video inputs then you might have to use an adapter, you can get these from radio shack.

You say it will not record from the tv, but in all actuality the dvd vcr combo is getting the signal from the converter box not the tv, do you understand what I mean here?

So the dvd vcr combo gets input from the converter box so you will have to set it to view signal from the line input you have plugged in from the converter box. line 1 or 2 or whatever the input is.

the tv will have to be set on the line input to view the signal from the dvd vcr combo.

That is as easy as I can put it. Study the diagram closely. You will see what I mean.

Connecting magnavox dvd/vcr player DV220MW9 to a 40 year old TV

What type of Inputs do you have on your TV. (ANT IN, S-Videio, RCA Video,RCA Audio)

If you only have a ANT In or RF Coaxial hook up you will need a RF Modulator

Wirring up (HDTV) from DV220MW9 to TV

I had the same problem & had to purchase a seperate RF Modulator for $18.
But I still have a problem & can't record TV shows onto a VHS tape, possibly
due to my older TV.
Hope you have better luck than me on recording : )

External tuner

if it's possible attach a free-view box to it.

DVD/VCR Combo

your model is "tuner free" that means it does not have the RF screw in connector. Buy one that has a tuner, preferably both ATSC(USA digital) and NTSC(USA analog)
