My GE Washing machine appears to be leaking from the bottom

My GE Washing machine appears to be leaking through the bottom at the end of the initial fill and/or during the agitation wash cycle for a super load. Water leaking is slightly sudsy and it does not appear to happen when I do an extra large or smaller load.

GE gtwn5050mows water spitting while filling

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

GE washing machine leaks at bottom

If this machine has a place to put pour fabric softener in that's sits under the lid on the cabinet? If so, the hose that allows the softener drain into the tub is either leaking or is disconnected.

Water will not shut off in washing machine

Check to load size selector switch, sounds like tube came off of it. The tube goes from switch to bottom of tube, tells machine what size load and when to turn off water.

Washing machine leaking

This is called the "drain hose" or "discharge hose" -- it connects to the outlet port on the water pump.

Water leaking from the bottom of the washer at the rear right corner!

firstly check that the inflow water pipes connected to the machine are connected correctly, feel around the pipes that touch the machine to see if there is any water. If there is the washers may need replacing on the pipe. Or the pipe may simply have got a bit loose through the machines spinning.

GE Top load washer.

Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,

Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.

Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking even with the tub full of water.

Let me know if you found it and how you do.

GE Washer overflows

washing machines of any make or shape have a level sensor, this normally consists of a thin pipe from the lower end of the machine (where there is water) normally enters the bottom of the outer drum casing, this thin rubber or thin plastic pipe goes up to the top of the machine just inside the casing, it leads into a "pressure switch" a circular disc object about 50 cms in diameter on average, also this has about 4 to 6 wires on it, this thin pipe becomes blocked not allowing air to be forced up the tube into the switch, not switching the machine water flow off when it gets to the correct level empty the machine, drain off the water, unplug the power supply, and clear out this pipe, normally its congealed old soap powder, place pipe back as it was, checking for any leak holes in it, if damaged, replace it with new, run machine again to test long winded but i hope i have explained it thoroughly
