You should be able to find all the instructions for these connections in your products owners manuals. The procedure should be straight forward. all the connections to the receiver should be input and output connections. The Receiver is basically just a switch box and amplifier with extras.You must make sure you know which input and output you are using for each of the components. You must have all the remote controls set-up to work with each other. The receiver is the master switch. From it you will control all input sources to the various output sources. Here is a possible set-up . Television output sound and video to the first input/ output section of the receiver. from here you can use the first audio/video output to your dvd/vcr input. This will allow you to record the television programs video and audio to your recording media.The audio/video output of the dvd/vcr will be connected to the second input /output of the receiver.With the second input you can view all the dvd/vcr materials on the television while listening to the sound through your receiver.The master output of the receiver's audio/video output is connected to the television input circuit. This will allow viewing and sound from all the units connected to the receiver. The receiver sound system will receive sound from all the input units as long as the connection are right and the input/out selections from the remotes controls are correct. That is the reason the owners manuals are so important for this purpose. They give these instructions and diagrams to show you the correct procedures for setting them up.They also give you information about customer support either with website help or a call in line for technical assistance.I hope this helps you with your problem.

How do i hook up mt audio speakers to my tv for surround sound? klh 403

Hi,
If I understand correctly form your question,you can not hook them unless your TV has 5.1 surround sound amplifier built in...Does it ? I doubt so..
in order to get a surround sound from your TV you need a 5.1 /7.1 DVD/Receiver and you can connect your TV to listen it thru Receiver ..Here is how you can do it..

** connect "Audio Output " as either :"2xRCA jacks"or "Optic cable output" or "HDMI "connector " of your TV ,
** to "RCA input jacks " or "Optic Cable input"
or if you have "HDMI input" of your DVD/ Receiver
** than just switch to respective mode on
Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of Receiver ..

There you go..your Tv sound are on the
DVD/receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND .
By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV
will come thru your
Receiver

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

Lost sound through tv/sat mode

Try unplugging all of the equipment for 30 minute to an hour, and see if this fixes it, otherwise, it sounds like the flickering power may have caused a surge in the circuitry of the equipment, causing it to short circuit the digital tuner in the TV.

MY TV ONLY HAS SOUND WHEN IT IS HOOKEDUP TO THE DVD PLAYER AND A SURROND SOUND SPEAKER BUT NOT FROM THE TV OR WHEN HOOKED UP TO THE SPEAKER ON TV OR XBOX

Hi,here is the solution......
Since you successfully connected your
DVD /Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action to listen your TV on DVD /Receiver
** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV ,
** to "TV input "or "AUX input" or "Optic Cable input"
of your DVD /Receiver (whichever you want based on the necessary cables on your hand )
** than just switch to respective mode on
DVD /Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of DVD /Receiver ..
*
You can use "HDMI" connections as well but sometimes HDMI creates problem on Audio..

There you go..Both Tv and Xbox sound are on the
DVD /Receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND .By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV will come thru your DVD /Receiver SURROUNDING SOUND .

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.

DVD in, have sound but no picture???

Hi,

Initially, a couple of ideas:
  • check the cables from the DVD to the VHS to the TV (I am assuming that the sound is likewise connected to the TV and not to a home receiver system or an amplifier);
  • I am assuming again that you are using RCA and not RF, if yes pls pay special attention to the yellow RCA on both the DVD to VHS and VHS to TV;
  • diagonal roll often indicates a loose ground or a defective cable/RCA connector;
  • verify settings/configurations in all three; DVD, VHS, TV. TV should be set to AV or Video, VHS likewise to A/V INput;
  • try playing a known good VHS tape, if normal playback, problem is between DVD and VHS, if likewise no video, problem is between VHS and TV.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Video input not recognized for LD and DVD

By coaxial, do you mean the composite (yellow)? Either way you have to use the same style no matter what the cable. I mean, if you have s-video's IN to the reciever then you need S-videos OUT to the TV. ....Component IN to the reciever? then Component OUT to the TV. And so on. You cant have composite cords going into the reciever and use a component cord out to the TV (with the exception of a few models).
