Hi im hoping someone could help with a problem i'm having. Ive been using a panasonic NV-GS320 camera for about 8 months, to date with no problems. Ive just tried to record some footage, but when i tried to play it back, i just get a black screen, with the timers. This is the same whether using the LCD, viewfinder, through my tv, or firewire to my pc. The tape counter stays at 0:00:00, but the "tape remaining" counter counts down as normal.I then tried to playback some previous tapes that have always worked no problem and they show exactly the same thing.
The last time I used the camera, about a month ago, everything worked perfectly.
I have tried everything I can find in forums etc, tape cleaners, taking the power out for 60 secs, pressing reset button, but nothing.
If it helps, the screen works perfectly in record mode, and also when viewing photos from the memory card. Ive also always used JVC tapes, never changing brand so i dont think its that either.
Mi proble is: the power is gone, no power in the camara
please giveme a solution att. norman mejia

I
Firewire transfer problem with PV-GS320. HAd bought the PV-GS90 and ran into significant transfer issues importing to Mac (iMovie and Fincal Cut Express HD both had problems). Upgraded to GS320 as Macworld rated it highly. Same problems: video plays back perfectly with no computer connection. once connected, video and audio stutter, go out of sync, sometimes just stop and/or crash the program.
I've used a borrowed Canon GL with this Mac before with no issues, so I suspect the camera. Have tried reset button, trashing preferences, restarts, the works. still can't get clean video to transfer from a brand new camera. Any Ideas?

Hi, You can download the operating instructions from the following link: Panasonic PV-GS320 Camcorder http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/PVGS320-MUL.PDF Hope it helps
I also have this problem, but have a little more to add:
Here is a website that carries the lcd screen: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartsList.asp
I think that its the following part number:
L5BDDYH00022
LCD DISPLAY (MONITOR)
87.56 $87.56 sucks, but it could be worse. Problem is now, I'm not sure how to replace it without taking the entire camera apart.
I also have the same problem and after almost buying a replacement I thought I would try one time to get it to go.
What I did was start the cam without a tape in it, let it bring up the little red icon indicating no tape inserted, (it hadn't started flashing "PLEASE RE-OPERATE AFTER PUSHING RESET BUTTON" at this stage) then I inserted my tape. Hey presto, it works although for how long I don't know. I'll immediately start burn my tapes to disc while the going is good.
