Hi, I have a Jenn-Air gas oven SEG196, with the grill for the left side burners. I don't use it, and want to have regular gas burners on the left as I do on the right. I can't seem to find that part. Do they make such a burner?

Jenn-Air Gas Oven Too Hot

Hi and good morning too you. First of all the normal oven swing is about twenty degrees, so your swing of thirty up is ok. I would center the swing, bake button, should see the offset screen. Change the setting to -10 and try again to check you temps. This drift you have is ok and by changing the offset should able you to control your overheating issue and center your swing.

Good Luck, feel free to ask for more help if needed.

I have a jenn-air gas range which is 4 yrs old. when you set the oven to bake there is a lag time between igniteing and gas causing an explosion before it will start to heat up.

Hi,

There is a possibility that the burner is partially blocked, make sure the oven is off and cool, take out the shelves, get a torch, a pin, a small piece of emery paper (or brillo pad) and a matchstick.

Inspect the burner at the back of the oven (look at the holes) remove any debris with the pin or match stick, use the emery paper/brillo to clean the igniter (this is a white stick with a piece of metal sticking out near the burner) very gently clean the metal part.

Try lighting it, if it makes no difference it's likely that your FSD (Flame Safeguard Device) is faulty and not allowing the correct amount of gas through.

It's a fiddly job looking at that so i would highly recommend a 'Gas Safe' engineer take a look at it for you.

I hope this helps.

How to change the oven light

jenn air usually hides the model number good lol if you open the door on the outer face of the oven might be a little grill where you can see inside and your model might be in there or it might be around the warming drawer if you have one
you need just a regular appliance 20v light bulb you can get at home depot or hARDWARE STORE  if you open the door on the back wall on the left or right upper hand side there is a glass bulb looking object , the material is thick glass/ plastic that just screws off lefty loosy right tighty once that is off you have access to the light bulb
if there is a little wire in front of the thick glass/plastic object just pull it up or down dont unhook it or break it off

Ignitor not working

Check the ignitor, Make sure that the connection are good and tight. If they are then look at your control board which is located behind your clock. Then check your relay also.

Jenn-Air Gas Range SEG196 NO CLOCK/DISPLAY

THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR THE BAD DISPLAY IS TO REPLACE THE CLOCK. I HAVE A JENN AIR OVEN TODAY AS A WORK ORDER TO REPLACE THE CLOCK FOR A FAILED DISPLAY.

FOR THE JGW8130DDB WITH NO POWER ANYWHERE, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A SUPPLY PROBLEM. MAKE SURE THE WIRING IS HOOKED UP WITH THE RED AND WHITE WIRES RECEIVING 240 VOLTS AND THE WHITE WIRE ATTACHED TO NEUTRAL / GROUND.IF THE OVEN HAS A BARE COPPER WIRE AND THE HOUSEHOLD WIRING ONLY HAS THREE WIRES, COMBINE THE WHITE WIRE AND THE COPPER WIRE TOGETHER AND ATTACH TO THE HOUSEHOLD NEUTRAL / GROUND .
UNLESS YOU ARE SURE ABOUT THE HOOKUP IN THE BREAKER/FUSE BOX, DO NOT GO SIMPLY BY THE COLOR OF THE WIRES.

Jenn-Air part RI302 4 pt gas re-igniter with flame rectification tytronics #Z21-20 and 7431 PO38-60

We had the same problem on a Thermador cooktop with the same RI-302 ignitor. Turns out it was one of the switches that sits on top of the gas valves. These switches cause the ignotor to fire when the valve is turned. In our case, one of the switches had malfunctioned and was "always on" causing the ignitor to continuously fire.
