I have an acer aspire 6920 which came with a 11.1v battery.can i change this to a 14.8v.i've read somewhere that you cant replace the 11.1 with the 14.8. i dont want to buy the 14.8 if it cant be used.

That is a known issue with that model of computer. The battery is not very good. I recommend taking it to a certified repair technician for an expanded battery.
My cousin has one and using windows 7 he gets about 20 to 30 minutes of battery life on average.
