Canon A 620 Digital LCD Screen replacement

My A620´s LCD screen cracked. I found several sites that will sell the LCD assembly. Now all I need is to find out how to go about replacing it. Can you tell me? Thanks.

I found the part on ebay (prophotosd) and only paid $66 including shipping. Received it today and already fixed my camera using Andy Ozment's instructions. Cannon gave me an estimate of $110 and I was seriously considering not fixing it. Glad I found this site and the links to the fix-it instructions.

The following link lists some instructions. Believe the listed "Andy Ozment" guide may include instructions for Canon rotating LCD assemblies:

LCD SCREEN WILL NOT DISPLAY POWER SHOT A620

From my experience, there is a setting on your camera (to preserve battery) that makes the screen black. There is probably nothing wrong with your camera, you just need to find the DISPLAY button and push it until you see the image on your screen.

If you do not have a manual for your camera, you can download one here:

Hope this helps!

My A620 powerShot camera has black screen. how can i fix it e-mail: [email protected] Thank you

You will have to replace the LCD screen, since it is broken. You can get an "as is" same model camera on Ebay with a good lcd, or sometimes they have the lcd's on Ebay, if you search for them by make, model, and description (lcd screen).
There are YouTube videos that show the general process for replacing one. Here are a lot of articles that will explain how:

Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Memory Card Locked The card works fine in my other Canon Camera, but not in my A620. I've switched out the cards and nothing works in my A620, but they all work in my other Canon. Memory Card Locked is...

I'm assuming the slide switch on the side of the card is in the correct position. In order for a card to work in a particular camera, it must first be formatted in that camera. This completely erases it so download any pictures still on it to your computer first.

Cannon Powershot A-620 black screen can't review

Did you accidentally press the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera? This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder to take pictures. To turn the screen back on, just press this button one more time.

Cannon Powershot LCD Screen

If you can get a replacement screen (ebay from a broken camera with working LCD screen?), it's not too hard:
