Hi im anthony and i had bought a laptop from a guy and it has k9 web protection on it and im tryn to get it took off can u pleasde help me

there are two methods you can try.
Method 1
If you have the administrator account password for the local computer and the best way to uninstall K9 web filter from the local computer is to re-install it! Re-install k9 web protection will simply get you a new license code and a new password you can enter without the need of old password.
1.Open K9 web protection website 2.Click "get K9 NOW" tab on the top-left 3.Fill out the information and your email. 4.Download the K9 Web protection software from the link included in the email and keep a copy of the license. 5.Grab a version of the K9 web protection installed on your computer, a Google search should do the job. 6.Open "Task Manager" by press (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and end the process K9filter found in the "Process" tab. 7.Now, you can safely delete the K9 web protection program files. Open computer explorer and go to the folder where K9 is originally installed. It can be found mostly at C:\Program Files/Blue Coat k9 Web Protection. 8.Remove the contents of the folder but not the folder. 9.Run the K9 web protection setup/installer file which has the same version as the one you just delete 10.Provide the license and create your new password 11.Point the installation folder to the same folder you just empty the contents earlier on 12.Now you can have a re-installed K9 web protection with a password you know. How do you uninstall K9 web protection now? Use the new password you just created If something goes wrong, install the K9 web protection program downloaded from Step 4.
Method 2
Reboot Windows into safe mode: restart your computer and hold "F8? key until you see the menu to choose "Safe Mode" Login to windows and go to "Program Files" directory and delete the K9 folder manually (delete only the contents but leave the folder) Click "Start"->"Run" and type "msconfig" Check the tab "Services" and tab "Startup" Un-check anything that is related to k9 If somehow this method is messed up, try to download K9 again to at least restore your previous installation. If this still does not work, try to install Revo Uninstaller.

How do I uninstall K9 Protector to enable me to get rid of 'System Tool' malware, because K9 Protector is not responding. System Tool is blocking .exe files.

These are the official uninstall instructions:

Please follow the instructions below to uninstall K9 Web Protection. Make sure you are connected to the internet before uninstalling K9 so your license can be released. If this is not possible, you can continue to uninstall, but you will need to request a new K9 license if you want to reinstall K9 in the future.

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Control Panel. If you can't see this option, it may be under "Settings"
  3. Click Add or Remove Programs
  4. Find Blue Coat K9 Web Protection in the list of programs and click it once.
  5. Click the Change/Remove button.
  6. Click Yes when you are asked whether you want to completely remove K9. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL WITHOUT A PASSWORD. By design, K9 will block all Internet access should one attempt to uninstall without using a password. Attempts to modify K9 at a registry level will have the same effect.
  7. Enter your K9 administration password and click Uninstall. If you forgot your password, click the "Forgot Password..." link to have a temporary password emailed to you.
  8. When asked whether to reboot your computer, click Yes

After rebooting, K9 will be completely uninstalled.

Uninstall k9 without a password

try this instructions:

This is a totally safe way to remove k9 web protection without a password 1.) Go to http://www1.k9webprotection.com and click on the "get license" tab on the left 2.) fill that out and get the license from your email address 3.) In the email there will be a link to download k9 or just type this into the address bar http://www.k9webprotection.com/download/k9-webprotection.exe You'll need this to reinstall k9 just incase you mess something up 4.) Download an older version of k9 web protection I used K9 Web Protection 3.2.36 which you can download from the following link http://www.shinedownload.com/software/K9-Web-Protection/665.html 5.) Access the task manager (ctrl + alt + del), go to the "process" tab, find "k9filter" and end this process of course after this point you won't be able to get on the internet since you just tampered with the program so make sure you've got the license from your email, the k9 installer, the k9 installer for the older version, and these directions on your desktop or something 6.) Go to the folder k9 is installed in ( C:\Program Files/Blue Coat k9 Web Protection/ is where it should be) and delete all the files in the folder, but not the folder itself 7.) Run the installer for the older version of k9 at this point you'll enter your license and create a password 8.) Install it in the folder you emptied earlier 9.) Now you can log on to k9 and change the filtering to whatever you please or just go ahead and uninstall it Now you should be free of that horrible skank of a program If not, then restart your computer. Or you can reinstall it from the installer you got from the k9 website, get on the internet, and email me at [email protected] and you and I will solve the problem K9 may have fixed this bug by the time you read this (because that's what they do best) but as of June 24, 2009 k9 doesn't stand a chance of torturing us with their nearly impossible-to-remove garbage any longer.

How do you bypass k9 web protection?

K9 web protection is Malware and a nasty one at that. Follow the procedure below and you should be able to rid yourself of it.

K9 protection along with Malware of other similar names is everywhere and it is hard to scrub from the system. There is however one program that has been doing the job very well. The program is free to download and use and is called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Tool. When you click on the link below, click on the download button. Run the installation program and when it is finished it will ask to both update and run the application, check both boxes and hit ok. Once the program updates, its main window will come up, choose quick scan and start the scanner. Once the program has finished the scan it will notify of all infections it has found. Choose to show results, all infections will be shown and checked for deletion. Delete all files it finds and reboot the system. The system should now be clean of all malware.

I want to know how to unstall the k9 protction

This and just about any program can be uninstalled from the Control Panel. Do you have the password for k9 program? If so you could just disable it whenever you are using the computer. The K9 protection/security levels determine what sites are blocked or content is blocked.
