How to change the ink cartridge

With the power turned on, do the following:
  1. Open the ink cartridge cover (the carriage should move to the right to access if not already there
  2. Pull the lock release levers down
  3. Remove the old cartridge
  4. Remove protective tape from new cartridge
  5. Insert new cartridge
  6. Move lock release levers back up
  7. Close cartridge door (you may hear the carriage move back to the ready position.
That is the procedure for changing an ink cartridge. Thank you for using Fixya and please remember to return to rate the answer you've just been provided.

Black ink keeps pushing out of cartridge

The problem is probably an ink build up on the black print head wiper on the service station. The wiper is supposed to clean the head but over time the ink builds up and evaporates and turns to tar. The wiper then fouls the head instead of cleaning it. Remove the left end cover and clean the service station wipers. Manual can be downloaded from here: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm

Hi, please tell me how to install a new black ink cartridge into my epsonstylus D78 printer

Open the cover. Press the Ink/maint button (triangle shape on button) this moves the carriage to indicate empty cartridge. keep pressing until carriage moves to the ink replacement position. Open ink cartridge cover and remove the cart. Ensure you remove the yellow tape on new cart' before installing and be careful not to touch the chip on the cart'. Push new cart' in until it clicks. Close lid (ensure clicks down), close printer cover and press ink button again.

Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Just changed the ink cartridge and does not print

If it was working before you changed the cart make sure you removed any sealing tape on the new one. If you have then you likely have a bad cart.

MFC 210C Ink Problems

Steve,

did you watch the display after replacing the cart?
Very often the machine asks if you have changed the cart and demands an answer (1 for yes).

You can try to do an update of the firmware, too. Go to www.brother.com , choose your country and then your machine. Download a small update tool and run it.

If it aint getting better:
Do unplug from power outlet (even though you have done already) wait 10 Min. leave scanner cover open and take all carts out. Plugin to power again and leave scanner open. Wait uintil machine gives a warning signal. Reinsert carts and close cover: now watch the display and give always the answer YES(1).
