Hi:-)

There's no lamp inside a plasma TV to check, the plasma pixels generate their own lite on the display panel.

First try plugging the TV in another wall outlet, be sure your using an AC surge suppressor to plug your TV into. If your not sure what an AC surge suppressor is then click here. Surge suppressors protect the TV from harmful AC spikes that can damage the TV's power supply circuit over time. These AC spikes come from the wall outlet!

If all the above is done and tried with no results, then read below:

This symptom indicates a failure on the power board inside the TV. Or, it could also be logic circuits holding down operating voltage due to a fault outside from the power board. There's no quick fix on this problem here, the TV needs servicing. If its under warranty take it back or have your local repair shop fix it for you.

I hope this sheds some light on a solution for this unfortunate TV problem.

Our Samsung HPN5039x Plasma TV isn't turning on: when we press the power button, the red power light flashes then turns off. What do we do?

Hello, It sounds like you have a defective power supply. Typically, +5 volt stby is present if the TV switches on with front indicator light. On the power supply, connector 802 pin 4 is the on command from the pcb main to switch the p.supply on. If this signal is present but still no VS,VA,VE panel voltages are missing, the p. supply is bad. Good luck!

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
If the line is present on all inputs, and effects the TV menu you most likely need a new screen.
You can try changing buffers, reseating cables.

Purple blotch on screen

hi..This patch can be a result of your TV 's Auto Degaussing
Coil problem. Metallic parts of a TV gets magnetized and the
ADG coil demagnetizes them. At power on you should hear a
sound, which is the ADG coil.please check the ADG coil connector
it might have been pulled out. The ADG coil is wrapped around securely
on your TV's Picture tube and power is tapped directly from the AC
Main via a plug in type connector to the TV main circuit board.
check it out..

I have a Samsung plasma hpn5039, and i was watching tv and something started burning on the back, and the image went out. Does anybody know what that may be?

Two things,
1st -- power board problem

If you are familiar with TV,
Open the back panel first then check the fuse on power & Y-main
Board.
It had problem that the board's which disconnected fuse on.
