Hi,

Try resetting the network adapter.

On the bottom right hand side of the desktop you will see the wireless icon, right click on that ans click on troubleshoot problems. This will reset the adapter and assign an IP address for your your PC.

When its done try to connect to the internet.

If this advice does not help please post back.

Good luck.

Asus laptop cannot connect to wireless network, any ideas?

If the only thing that has changed is the install of the AT0100 utility then I would un-install that utility. I'd agree that the wireless connection is sortof not the problem. The fact that can and are connected indicates that connection is being made. However, it could be an "ip" issue. If you are connecting through DHCP then your system should be able to pick up a new "ip" lease and it should connect though that could take just a little bit of time. You might go into the adapter settings and check your ipv4 settings and verify that it is selected for DHCP or an address with a correct subnet mask and Default gateway. A way to check is from the start button, type cmd and press enter. This will bring up a separate screen. At the Dos prompt type "ipconfig /all" This will give you the details of all network devices on your laptop and how they are trying to talk.

I have problem with vaio vpcea3bfx, i cant connect to my wireless network @home, i dont know what to do?

You may sometimes need to connect to a wireless router locally to update its configuration. Accessing a wireless router's configuration screens requires you to know the router's IP address as well as the admin log in name and password. You should also be aware of a few common Wi-Fi connection problems and how to solve them.

Here's How:
  1. Verify the current local IP address of your router. Home broadband routers are manufactured to use a default address such as 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.2.1.

  2. Verify your computer is connected to the router either via an Ethernet cable or wireless association with the router. In either case, ensure your computer possesses a valid IP address.

  3. Open a Web browser window and request a connection to the router using its local IP address. For example, type http://192.168.1.1/ in the browser's address bar to request a connection to a router using the IP address 192.168.1.1.

  4. If the browser request is successful, you will be connected to the router and prompted for the administrative log in (user-name and password) information. Enter the administrative log in information to authenticate yourself to use the router's admin screens. Broadband routers contain default user names and passwords when first installed. Consult your router's documentation if you need to know the default login information.

  5. If the browser request returns an error message, your computer is likely not connected to the router. You may need to perform additional troubleshooting to establish a connection. Try the following procedures and repeat step 3 above as needed to resolve any connection problems:
      a. Reboot (power off and on) your router
      b. Temporarily disable your network firewall
      c. Reset your router to factory defaults (consult the manufacturer's documentation)
Tips:
  1. If this is the first time you are connecting to a wireless router for admin work, consider using a wired Ethernet link rather than a Wi-Fi link. Your Ethernet connection will keep working even if you haven't finished configuring or accidentally break the Wi-Fi settings.

Cannot connect to open wireless network Invalid IP Address

Either the network requires you to manually configure your ip settings(unusual but not unheard of) or your wireless adapter is not set to get settings from DHCP. Check to verify that your wireless adapter is set for DHCP and if this is correct then you'll need to contact the administrator for the wireless AP and haver them check their settings.

Aquiring network address

Hey there,

in connecting wirelessly to the router, we need to make sure the encryption on the router.

Access the router setup screen, check the IP address first of the computer.

Open IE type there 192.168.1.1 username is blank and password is admin.

once it is on the setup screen checked the wireless tab and look for wireless security, verify it and try to connect again.

in your wireless computer, right click wireless connection and go to view available wireless network, try to connect - input the network key if in case it is not asking you for it, click the changed the order of the preferred networks and then removed all the preferred networks there, then try to connect again and you will now be asked for a network try to connect and you should be connected then.

One of five PCs not connecting to Belkin 54G router

I would connect it to the router using a lan cable to verify that it will get a IP address and connect to the internet. Write down the IP information and make a static wireless connection with that info. It should work hardwired and wirelessly with this info. If it doesn't work wirelessly you may have a bad wireless card or you may find that their is already conflicting static IP info in the connection that has to be removed. Make sure that on your internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties that you have selected "Obtain an IP address automatically" and Obtain DNS server address automatically". Clear any settings that you may see there.

I am having trouble finding the WAP key for my computer. I just bought a laptop and it can detect the LAN connection but needs the WAP key. I am looking on our desktop but having trouble finding it. How do...

I guess you meant the Security Key for the wireless. You need to manually set the encryption type and key in order to connect.
When connected to the Wireless router with a cable, open up command prompt (Start->Run...->cmd [OK]), type ipconfig and note the IP address of the Gateway.
Copy paste this Gateway IP Address into IE and [Go]. you'll be prompted to logon. Try defaults if you don't know (Admin, Admin or Admin, password).
Then depends on the model of the Wireless router you need to locate settings for the wireless connection. Recommands WPA-PSK 2, AES.

If you open your Network window from the start menu, at the top you will see "Add a wireless device". Follow the instructions and this should get your wireless connection with WEP key add. (When you select your router, you will need the WEP key at hand. You can get this by going to the web page of your routers IP address.) Good Luck.

What is the IP address that you are getting?

The Ip address needs to be in the range of 192.168.?.? on a home network typically.

Notebook won't connect to network

1) Verify if Wi-Fi WLAN interface of your notebook is OK.
1a) Check whether HW switch is ON and the wireless system service is running.
1b) Switch on the WLAN Access Point (router) SSID broadcasting.
1c) Scan WLAN networks by the notebook. Can you see your home WLAN? If not, there is HW or SW problem in your wireless adapter probably. If WLAN is visible, continue by next steps.

2) Remove all WLAN security on both sides (AP and notebook): Authentication = none/open, encrytption = none.
3) Activate DHCP server in the router and set the dynamic IP assigning on WLAN notebook interface.
4) Select your home WLAN SSID in the list and try to connect.
5) Wait and check status. Is WLAN connected? Does obtain the notebook an IP address?
6) In success case set the WLAN security.

hi there ...

your isp is at&t? please verify the ip address straight to the modem if its is 192.168.1.1 and if your modem from your isp is set to DHCP or BRIDGE mode.

IF IP address is 192.168.1.1 (DHCP)
... change the LAN IP address of the router to 192.168.2.1 or 5.1 to prevent any IP conflict
by doing this :

1. access setup page of router usually 192.168.1.1
2. under setup tab look for the ip address, change it, then save
3. click on the status tab , and look for a VALID ip address

IF MODEM is set to BRIDGE mode
.... please ask username and password from your ISP coz we would need to set your router to PPOE...
1. access setup page
2. under setup tab look for INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE
3. select PPPoE
fill in username and password
select "keep"alive
save
4. click on status tab
look for LOG in TYPe ===> click CONNECT
if connected : check a valid IP address
if authentication failed verify again your username and password from your ISP

Goodluck!
