I have a canon ir2200 that is saying paper jam on front left. I can find no paper jam anywhere and have checked to see that the dials on the paper trays are set correctly. Also I have turned copier on and off multiple times with no luck. Also prior to this it would print multiple sheets of paper with either nothing on it or gibberish when we tried printing from computer.Do I need to reformat HDD?

It says Paper Jam, but there is no paper jam anywhere what can i do

Torn pieces of paper while removing can jam your printer. Check the optical sensors in paper path. You will find these sensors in the middle or at one end of the paper path.

I have a paper jam and it says to open the front cover, put the front cover just shows the ink cartridges and there is no visible paper jam. how do i find the jam and remove it? It's a canon image...

Hi,
The paper jam could be in three places.
First:

Open the cover of fixing section, its above bypass, and check for jamed paper

Second:

Open the transfer cover, these cover has handle and it goes by pulling toward you, and check for jamed paper.

Third:

In hight of first paper cassette, on left sideway of copier, beaneath the bypass are small door, open it and check for paper jams. Be sure that you closed them properly because if they arent closed the check printer cover message will arrise.

Hope that helped

Copier keeps telling us there is paper jam, we have looked where screen shows jam and find nothing. We have taken out the paper tray, still don't find even a tiny scrap of paper anywhere.

There are several possibilities. After you inspect for the Jam and close the drawer, does the copier come to ready? Have you checked the behind the doors on the right side. If the copier comes to ready and you press the start button does the copier jam right away. If so check the dial on the paper drawer and be sure its set to the right size paper. If its not the copier will jam, right away. It is important with a Canon to check all areas and open both the paper drawer and the right side doors when checking for jam, if the right sequence is not followed in checking for jams the jam may not clear. If still Jammed you might take some canned air open the right side door and blow out the paper feed area, a sensor may be blocked or dusty. If all else fails turn the machine off and un-plug it from the wall, let it set a few minutes and plug it in and try it again.

REC. Paper Jam, Open front door

1) check left door of cass pick up section, if they are closed properly, special the sensor flap- when you opens the lower left door of cass section, you have another "door" which pick up the flap into some middle position in nick in the "door". For test try with finger yust to see the diference in positions.

2- check all sensor flappers

Clear Paper Jam error -- but there is no paper jam!

Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...
