Our problem was that we could not get picture on the tv screen but it got sound. We tried to solve it using different techniques like the setup, video source, function keys pressed on remote control by trial(only assumed) and error as we could not see the screen and I used scart with every conection but three point pin was free so I put only one pin in video out put and at that moment I could see the picture on tv.
when you have split and seperated the part of the viceo you want to put onto a dvd, highlight it on the list of recordings and press the blue "playlist +" button on the remote. This will have added the recording onto the list of items to be recorded to dvd. Now press the red "RECORD/DUB" button. This will then record the file to the disc.
When y ou are notified that the process is complete, you will need to finalise the disc in order for it to be playable on other machines.
While the DVD is still in the drive uses the blue "function" button, and select DVD.
Shortly a list of titles on the DVD you have recorded will appear. Press the "UP" arrow on the remote once and a new menu will appear. One of the options here is to finalize disc. hilght this option and click the "RIGHT" arrow once - press "select" to finalise the disc.
Change the Scart setting (in the setup menu) from the default setting (RGB) to the other available setting (CVSC?).
I have a problem with my box restting the clock on a random basis, making it impossible to set a timer to record anything - let us know if you get the same problem via this site!
The Wharfdale Machine that has Freeview has an F on the end ie vdrhd400f. It may be yours is an analogue version. Always possible that you can use the TV as an output via a scart to record what you are watchin
Hi
I had the same problem. The answer is to use a scart lead on the freeview box and connect it to the input/output scart on the DVD. Then connect a scart lead from the TV out on the DVD to the TV.
You then press Video source on the DVD remote until 'scart' is displayed to pick the freeview channels.
Hope that helps
