CONNNECTING THE DMR-EZ475V TO A TV, THEATRE SYSTEM AND CABLE BOX

I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ475V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo and i want to hook it to a Panasonic SA HT680 DVD Home Theatre Sound System, a 2001 Sony Trinitron Color TV and the Comcast Cable Box. When i select Aux on the Theatre System, I can hear the sound of the TV coming out of the speakers but i can not get the audio sound of the DMR-EZ475V Recorder / VCR Combo to come through the speakers, when i am
watching a DVD or VCR. I have the S-video and audio/video cords going from the TV to the DMR-EZ475V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo. I can see and view the dvd recorder this way but i dont know how to connect the rest of the systems: the Cable box and the Theatre System. If i need more audio/ video cords or if i need to connect the items differently to add the other components, please explain. Ms Tanya, 2/8/08 2:47AM CST.

Even though your information was quite helpful, i decided to call the 800# that was on the manual for the DMR-EZ475 RECORDER / VCR and was given exact instructions. They advised me where to place the audio and video and s-connectors. The Sony TV Audio Out was connected to the Aux, L and R of the Theatre Surround Sound. Also the Sony TV Audio Video In and S-CONNECTOR was connected the the Audio Video Out oand S-CONNECTOR of the DMR-EZ475. And that was the connections that i was looking for. Nothing was connected to the Comcast Cable box other than the normal television connection. And to receive the sound of the dvd/ vcr movies through the speakers, the tv speakers has to be turned to OFF on the tv and the surround sound is then put on AUX and the sound comes through. See, i really didn't need the RCA splitters, even though i had purchased 3 of them after you left your comment. Thanks for being helpful. 2/12/08 3:40AM CST.

New cable box now can't get panasonic DMR-EZ475V to work!

Do the first time setup and when it asks how you receive the rf signal select no as the answer, this will allow you to record directly from your cable box but you won`t be able to record and watch another channel.

Hooking up audio video to cable box with home theatre

From Cable Box to Input on DVD Player, from DVD Player Out, to TV in, from TV Audio Out to Home Theater Audio In.

That should work.

Will have to have the VCR on to watch cable. Plus make sure that you use A/V cables as much as possible. Coax works ok, but not as good as R/W/Y.

Record a digital channel while watching and analog channel

Take a red, white, and yellow AV cable and plug it from the AV out of the cable box to the red, white, and yellow In of the dvd recorder (change cable box to the channel you want to record). Then change your TV to the channel you want to view.

Have fun!

Check the fuse in the plug, if not, seeing as its new i would take it back to the shop for a replacement, NOT a repair.
