Need to reset the tachymeter on my Guess Steel watch . The dial resets it's self to the "7" location instead of "12" on my watch. Is there a way to recalibrate the watch?

This is chronometer that's need reset. Tachymeter is usually located on bezel or inclined ring and is used for speed calculations of moving object over the given period of time. Ok, back to your chrono hand resetting. Pull out crown and then push the upper button and hold it. The chrono hand should start move and you should be able to adjust it. If this doesn't work, try the same with lower button. When adjusted - push the crown back in. In fact there are very many variations how to reset chrono hand, but exact advise can be given if the movement caliber of particular watch is known.

I checked the manual and it said the crown need to be pulled to the time correction position i.e the extreme end position and then hold the upper button till the chronograph second hand sets itself to zero second position.

HOW USE TACHYMETER & WHAT TACHYME3TER MEANS

A Tachymeter helps you estimate the speed you are going.

It uses the basic formula that speed = Distance/time

Here is how to use it: (For the full article see the link below)

To use tachymeter, simply start the chronograph or stopwatch when the object measured passing the starting line. When the object reaches the next mile or kilometer marker, stop the chronograph or stopwatch. The point on the tachymeter scale that adjacent to the second hand of the watch indicating the speed (in miles per hour or kilometers per hour) of object traveling between the two points.

For example, we want to measure the average speed of a vehicle is moving. Start the chronometer or stopwatch function when the car passes the starting line, and stop the timer after the vehicle traveled exactly 1 mile or 1 kilometer. Then look at where the chronometer hand (the second hand of the watch) is pointing to, and get the reading or value of the corresponding number at the tachymeter bezel or dial. Let's say the stopwatch stop at 3 o'clock position, meaning 15 seconds had elapsed for the car to travel 1 mile or 1 kilometer. At 3 o'clock position, the tachymetre value shows that number of 240, which means the average speed of the vehicle was 240 mph or km/h.

My analog Guess watch has a date display only (no day). I have re-set the date over and over, but it changes the date at noon instead of at midnight.

Your problem is caused by the fact that the watch is 12 hours out of step.

Wind your watch forward 12 hours, reset the date if you need to and you watch will then change around midnight.

(if you need to change the date more than one day, when it has past the change time, wind it back and then forward to step the date forward. You may have to experiment to see how far past the change point (in both directions).

On a Invicta Men's Off-Shore Russian Diver Quartz Chronograph Silver-tone Watch, the big min hand does not stop at the 12 clock position but instead stops 2 mins before the 12. It stops on the 62 instead...

It isn't a fault and can be adjusted. Follow this link and find out how to.... http://www.invictawatch.com/ Point at COLLECTIONS and click on INSTRUCTION MANUAL. If you don't know which one of movement makes you have, try both (RONDA first, then MIYOTA). When sorted with type of movement, check how to reset chronograph to 0 (zero).

My analog stopwatch needle at 11 instead of 12o'clock

The procedure for the Classima Chronograph watch is different. You need to pull the dial all the way out, press on both buttons and hold for 5 sec, until the seconds dial makes a full cirlce (signalling that the chronograph is now ready for manual reset, then press the button on 2 o'clock until the seconds dial reaches the 12 o'clock position, then press button at 4 o'clock, to transfer control to the 1/10 dial, press button at 2 o'clock again a number of times until it resets to 0, then press 2 o'clock dial again to transfer control to the little hours dial, and press 4 o'clock button number of times until you reset this one to 0 too. Now just push back the dial crown to original position to close the operation. Viola

I have a chronograph watch with a white and a red

The trick is to pull out the stem 2 times and use the plugers to adjust each of the dials. Some watches have 3 dials and you have to pull out the crown 1 time or click and use the plungers or buttons to adjust the other dials.

My stopwatch resets to the 7 instead of the 12. Can you help

On most watches all you have to do is pull the crown to position 2 (the last) and depress pusher A (on the top). The second hand should advance in 1 second intervals. Keep pushing the A pusher until the second hand lines up with 12 hour marker. Push the crown back in and your done!
