Acer Aspire 5610 RAM upgrade issue. Sorry, it's long-winded. I included everything. lol I'm trying to upgrade from 1GB (two 512mb modules), to 2GB (two 1GB modules). The max for this machine is supposed to be 4GB. First time around, the upgrade worked for 1 week. Then the laptop got caught in a reboot loop...memory error. I did some troubleshooting, and found that one of the modules had stopped working. I popped in one of the old 512's and it started working again at 1.5GB (one old module, one new module). I returned it and was sent a replacement. Replaced the old 512 module with the replacement 1GB module. So, I was back to running 2GB. It worked for 1 DAY, and the video went out. Once again, I pulled the new module out. I am now running at 1.5GB again. But, now I am having an issue with the Sims 3. No problems before, but when it trys to run now it "blue screens" on me and reboots. I was an IT Tech for 7 years, but never dealt with laptops. This has me stumped. Please help!!
