Electrolux Pronto 2-In-1 Stick/Hand Vacuum - Cayenne Logo
Posted on Jan 11, 2010

My Electrolux pronto is slow to start, if it operates at all. The light on the charger doesn't stay on for more than a few seconds. Is it the charger, the battery, or the vacuum? Has hapened in the last few weeks. It is cleaned out, and generally well cared for.

The Electrolux Pronto 2-in-1 is truly a very bad piece of euipment. I too went with the Electrolux over the Shark because of the Electrolux name. This over priced unit makes me doubt the quality of all Electrolux products. I shall not buy another one of products

I just wanted Electrolux to know that this is the Pronto 2-1 is the worst product I ever purchased. I thought after I received the new battery because of the recall it would work.
When I was going to purchase the stick broom I was going to get the Shark but because I knewElectrolux was a good name in products I decided to purchase the Electrolux which I truly regret because it was just a waste of money

I am sorry that I do not have the solution but just discovered that I have the same problem. My power pack was recalled because of the battery problem and I received a new power pack that worked perfectly for six months. Today, my wife tried to use the unit and it had no power. Being the man of the house, I assumed she had not placed the handle in the charger bracket correctly and proceeded to carefully attach it. Sure enough, the blue light came one, for only a few seconds, and then went off. After several carefully conducted attachments, I came to this website to find a solution. Good luck to both of us.

The blue light doesn't stay on. What do I do?

Hi Alec from VacuumSpot here. In Australia these are sold as the ergo rapido. The most likely culprit is the charger itself we sell loads of Electrolux Ergo Rapido Chargers basically the best bet is to measure the output of the charger to see if it is working properly (watch video) if it isnt then simply replace the charger. If it is then replace the vacuum handset - Electrolux have made the handsets real cheap so you dont have to do a repair on battery or motor.

Electrolux 2 in 1 Ergorapido stick Vacuum. Motor runs then cuts out after 3 - 4 seconds. Sometimes it will run properly for 10 minutes so batteries are good. Why does it cut our usually?

If the hand held is working correctly (By itself) try pulling up a little bit on the 4 metal connection tabs on the wand. The connection tabs were not making a proper connection on my unit.

The blue lights on the charger base for the pronto stick vac go out after about 5 seconds and the vacuum is not working. What do I do?

check that the contacts are connecting and are clean of debris. If they are you can check the charging plug to confirm it is putting out 15v if not replace the charging plug. this is a common problem. you can get parts online at http://www.vacpartswarehouse.com/Electrolux-EL1000B-BZ-Pronto-Stick-Vac-s/3734.htm?gclid=CKDFg_3Jv7kCFc4-Mgody1wAjg

good luck

Roller/sweeper on my Electrolux Pronto

After 3 years my Pronto slowed down and needed new batteries. I just replaced all 8 internal batteries. It cost just under $30 with shipping and took 1 hour of soldering. If you're not handy with a soldering iron, don't attempt it. All of the batteries are soldered together in series. You need to order the 8 (4/5 Sc size, 2000 mAh) Nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries with tabs. The source I used was www.BatteryJunction.com. Here's a link to the battery page: http://www.batteryjunction.com/tenergy-45th-sc-1-2-2000-tabs.html

PS The vac now runs GREAT!
