Hi - I have the Miele G 2470 dishwasher. It starts, and I have it set at "2 in 1 Tab" and on "Normal". I close the door and the machine makes a sound like it is starting, but then after abiut 30 seconds it starts alarm beeping and doesn't run. When you open the door it shows the light is now on next to "Intake/Drain". To stop the beeping I have to press the "off" circle. This sequence happens each time. what do you recommend to get it to work? thank you very much. Lori.

That depends on condition, price, age, price of alternatives, and so on. There is no direct answer to your question.

here can be two main problems
1) if once you close the door is a continuous click then your problem is the the electric/mechanic lock from top of your dishwasher
2) if once you close the door nothing happening is the switch from inside of the door this one can be tested making a bridge bet-twin the 2 wires are connected to the switch ( please make sure you unplug the dishwasher from mains before you carry any work on it )
once bridge done and dishwasher plug back to the mains the arm will retract in even if you not close the door

Sorry mate - manuals are hard to come by from miele, only service agents have these and are bound by contractual obligations.
there is a door locking plate located mid top of the dishwasher which latches to the door, a locking mech. # 6022271 located on the door itself.
The locking mech is electrically controlled only when cycles are selected and you push start. The chances are where the latch system which clicks into the mech is likely to be worn or jammed, the door should click into place as you close it and electrically locked during the cycle.
I would say there is a mechanical problem with the machine more so than anything else.

Hi dear.According to what you're saying,there is a problem with wash pump.Please do this before take any action, remove the filter & check for any obstacles.if there is any clean it & run the machine for test.If this did not work then there is a little capacitor on the main wash pump.That's causing the problem & needs to be chage.If you can do it,try to replace the capacitor "?uF"same as the original type.It should work perfectly.I hope that helps.Thanks.

make sure you are not using too much detergent. no more than 2 teaspoons. try running the unit with no detergent a few times. if problem still persists then check the door seal or remove the door panel and make sure the overflow tray running along the base of the door where the hinges are is not blocked with food. also check the door is closing enough to seal,the door latch may have moved. check the tightness of the screws

The red light tell you there is a fault. You have to read the fault code and it will give you a general idea of the problem - to do this you have to enter the service mode of operation - close the door and turn the dishwasher on.
The Start/Stop light must be blinking. If the Start/Stop light is not blinking, press and hold
the Start/Stop button for at least 3 seconds to exit the cycle. The Start/Stop light should now be blinking.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button while turning the dishwasher on. Release the
Start/Stop button and immediately press it 2 more times. Flashing Intake/Drain and
Salt lamps and a lit Rinse lamp indicates successful accessing of services mode

try doing button setting change from "Hi-Temp Wash - Normal - Hi-Temp Wash - Normal" sequence of button selections. This must occur within 6 seconds and initiates an internal diagnosis of the machine.
The process runs for about 19 min. and shuts off
During the process several LED's light up and several funtions start and stop.
If the machine has no broken systems, you should be able to open the door add some soap and the usual dirty dishes and carry on with normal operation. this is the method to reset the machine.
Most likely is that there were suds in the last cycle or the door doesn't close smoothly.
