I have an Olympia "caller I.D." unit that, in addition, displays the date and time and personal messages can be inserted in the display. It is an Olympia Model # NO.OL3000.2. What is happening is that it will display the "caller I.D. only on a "far and few between" intermittent basis. I have tried changing the phone wire lead but it did not help. Any ideas?

This is not cell phone. It is a globe, about 6 inches in diameter, that has something that spins inside. What ever it is that is spinning( I wish I knew what to call this) posts letters and numbers on the inside surface of the globe that can be read by anyone looking at the globe. The letters or numbers that are posted detail several items; these items can be the date, time, personal messages that have been programmed into the machine, and caller ID. It is the caller ID function that is working just "every so often" and I was asking how to fix it. This item was sold through Brookstone Stores and is an item they no longer carry. I replaced the phone wire that leads from the phone outlet to the machine thinking that there could be a small "break" in one of the wires, but that did not help.

This unit is made by Olympia and the model # is NO.OL3000.2. That is all I have as I have misplaced the instruction manual.

    Let me know your thought.

Hello! Do you have, in your home, an alarm system, wireless equipment, or a modem shared phone line? What type of phone system is the Olympia connected to? Also have you made any equipment changes that coincide with the occurrence of this problem?

Red Light Inside Is Off and No Caller ID

Hi, usually this red light is a "new message" indicator when it's on, the normal condition should be off. If the caller ID function is not working could be cables misconnected, the connector labeled as line should be connected to wall line outlet, the connector labeled as phone should be connected to your telephone. In the worst of cases if the connections are OK, there's a problem with the line or the caller ID unit.

When someone calls my phone from another extension in the office how can I get the time stamp to show on my voice mail instead of the persons name?

The date and the callers name should display on the telephone. You cannot display the time stanp, however you can press 7 to listen to the message envelope, which includes the time stamp.

Hi,

Just went through the service manual for your product & you have an LCD display unit, this won't go bad overnite this is definately a faulty product... You will have to return/replace the phone .. there is a service tag number at the flip side of your phone ... i am sure you will get the warrenty back with it.

Select button does not work on olympia globe caller id

You are possibly in the demonstrate mode. If that is the case, press and hold the right key for a few seconds.

I changed the batteries in my olympia globe and cannot call up the CD list. The only message I get is"olympia globe.

After I changed the batteries, waiting for about one hour, the CD list finally came up and after a time, I was able to get the CD list to reappear and arrow down to "date and time".
I don't understand how it got well but I'm happy.

Cidco inc caller id box - model # JA-25A-18

When a call is received it will automatically set the time and date. To change the display contrast hold down the 'delete' button while toggling one of the other buttons. Hold the delete button down until the 'select, mem, mode' is displayed and choose between '25 name & number' or '64 numbers' . Make sure the batteries are good and the batt indicator in top left corner of display is off. I think that is all the features this early model unit was capable of.

Olympia, and/or Sharper Image infoglobe. Need fix.

It appears that you have already removed the 4 screws. The globe will not just fall off, it has to be pried. Take a small- bladed screwdriver or a small-bladed pocket knife and gently pry from any small opening you see between the globe and its base. Work the blade around the globe and it will come off. I just did it and now I'm trying to figure out how to get inside the "guts" of the globe. Will keep you advised.
