I have a Maytag Quiet Series 400 and I can't get it to run on Normal,lite or other. I get a code 82 that appears. What does this mean?

My maytag quiet series 400 won't select Auto Clean, Heavy wash or rinse cycles. I cleaned the ribbon cable connection where it attaches to the control board. All buttons now work except for the auto clean. There was a residue on the connector. Use alcohol wipes to clean. Still can not figure why Auto Clean won't select?

My Maytag quiet 400 series is doing the same thing-buttons aren't responding or working. And now a second problem...it has become very loud and sounds like it is chewing up all the dishes.

OL = Overloaded.

From the Maytag site: To remove the code, press pause or cancel button twice and the power button once. If the code is still displayed, unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute. Items were detected in the washer during the Clean Washer cycle. Remove items from the drum and restart the Clean Washer cycle.

What does the HC code mean on the Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 300 mean?
You can fix it. Your hot and cold water hoses are reversed on the water valve on the washer. Switch them around you should be fine.

Maytag dishwasher quiet series 400. Dishes have hard stuck on grit and food particles after rinsed and dried.
Very common problem is soap build up in these machines. Try putting it into a wash cycle with no dishes, and no soap. Let it wash for about 5 minutes, and then open the door. If you see alot of soap suds, then soap build up is the problem. Try doing a couple loads with no soap, and no dishes, and throw a cup of vinegar into the machine halfway through the wash. Repeat as necessary. This should solve your problem.

How to shorten Dishwasher running time
no way to shorten the cylces, they are what they are, this machine (all newer machinces for that matter) use far less water and much smaller more efficent motors than years past, however to clean the same the tend to run much longer 90 min normal for normal cycle, nothing can be done sorry!
