I had this problem when I used TIDE 2X detergent (thinking 2X was the same as HE). This happened several loads. I had bought several jugs of Tide (larger ones won't fit in drawer). Somehow grabbed HE one next time and didn't have this problem. Tried the 2X another time or two with again the washer stopping and LED lights on/unresponsive.

Solution was to not use anything but HE detergent.

Still having problem with Fabric Softener dispenser.

Timer is on and Tv will not come on

Press the System Reset Button which is on the RHS on control panel
If the TV fails to respond to the remote control, control panel
buttons, or will not power on/off, press the SYSTEM RESET button on the control panel.
The green LED on the front panel will flash quickly for up to one and a half minutes. When the green LED stops flashing, you may turn on the TV. Recent setting changes you made before using SYSTEM RESET may be lost.
If that fails try pressing and holding the menu button for 8 secs

The dryer just stopped and now wont turn on

WAKE THE WASHER BY PRESSING ANY BUTTON.

WAIT 5 SECONDS.

PRESS AND HOLD THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY.

ALL LED'S WILL GO BLANK AND AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE CONTROL WILL SIGNAL THE STORED CODE USING AUDIBLE BEEPS AND BLINKING LED'S. THE CONTROL WILL REPEATEDLY SIGNAL THE CODE, AS LONG AS THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS ARE PRESSED. A TWO-SECOND PAUSE BETWEEN REPEATS AFFORDS YOU THE ABILITY TO MAKE ACCURATE COUNTS TO IDENTIFY THE CORRECT ERROR CODES.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: ON A SMALL NUMBER OF WASHERS WITH SERIAL

NUMBER PREFIX XC4, IF THE PREVIOUS PROCEDURE DOES NOT PREFORM AS

SPECIFIED, FOLLOW THE OPTION BELOW:

* FOLLOW ALL PREVIOUS STEPS BUT INSTEAD OF PRESSING START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS, PRESS AND HOLD OPTIONS AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS."

*THE CONTROL WILL PAUSE FOR 2 SECONDS, THEN REPEAT THE CODE AS LONG AS THE TWO BUTTONS ARE PRESSED AND HELD."

NOTE: A LETTER APPEARING IN THE CODE STANDS FOR A NUMBER HIGHER THAN NINE: A=10 B=11 C=12 D=13 E=14 F=15 "

"EXAMPLE CODE F1: THE FIRST DIGIT WOULD BE 15 AND THE SECOND WOULD BE 1. IF THIS CODE WOULD APPEAR ON A WASHER IN THE GOOD MODEL LINE, THE FIVE INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD BLINK FIFTEEN TIMES AND THE START INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD

The Hold to start button is not starting the washer anymore. It used to work but it no longer makes the click that used to start the washer. It seems to be stuck

The user interface board is not serviceable and it requires to be replaced when it is not working properly or when a button is stuck. The procedure is quiet easy and you can do it yourself.

Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid electric shock.

Remove the three screws attaching the rear of the top panel to the back of the washer then slide the panel rearward, and then lift it off the washer.

Disconnect the 7-terminal user interface ribbon connector from the left side of the central control unit.

Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops; press down the release tab then pull the drawer completely out of the washer.

Remove the screw in the recessed hole at the left of the drawer opening. Press and release the tab securing the right side of the console to the cabinet.

Open the washer door then insert the blade of a flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot at the bottom center of the console then push the console up to release the tab attaching its bottom to the cabinet.

Gently pry up and release the top of the console then pull it off the washer.

Pull the cycle selector knob off the control panel then release the tabs securing the user interface/LED assembly to the control panel. Lift the user interface/LED assembly from the control panel once all of the tabs are released.

Inspect the Hold to Start button and the alleged stuck membrane in the user interface board. Replace the button if it is broken. Try your luck by trying to unstuck the stuck membrane. If no luck at all, replace the user interface assembly.

Install the new user interface/LED assembly into the control panel by inserting it into the tabs from one side to the other until it is completely secured, and then reinsert the cycle selector knob.

Align the console tabs with the slots in the cabinet then insert the tabs into position. Secure the left side of the console with the screw previously removed, and then slide the dispenser drawer back in place.

Reconnect the user interface ribbon connector to the central control unit then slide the top panel back into position and secure it with the three securing screws.

Note: The user interface assembly part number may differ from version to version of the same model. The version is indicated by the last digit of the model number so make sure to indicate the complete model number of your washer located on the left side of the door opening.

Control locked light is on and washer won't turn on. Can press "Control On" and Cancel/Pause buttons at the same time to get the power on but won't start.

Looking at the manual of my Whirlpool front loader gives me the following advice...

CONTROL WON’T ACCEPT SELECTIONS
1. Press PAUSE/CANCEL button on the touch-pad twice.
2. Drain the unit, then check that the drain hose and drain
pump filter are clear of foreign objects.
3. Check the touch-pad/LED assembly by selecting different
cycles and changing the modifiers and options available to
confirm the touch-pad/LED is responding.
4. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
5. Check harness connections.
6. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
7. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle

I have a Whirlpool duet washer and on the control panel the light that says control locked is on and the washer does not work - is there a way to reset it?

Press the Pause/Cancel button twice then press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for three seconds until the Control Locked light turns off. If it doesn't work, unplug the washer for at least fifteen minutes to reset it.

Replace the user interface/LED assembly if the Control Locked indicator still lights up and not allowing you to operate the washer.

Remove the three screws at the rear of the top panel securing it to the back of the washer. Slide the top panel back and lift it off the washer.

Disconnect the user interface/ LED assembly ribbon connector from the left side of the central control unit (CCU) and release it from the wiring harness brackets.

Pull the dispenser drawer out and press down the release tab at the back of the drawer to pull it out completely.

Remove the screw that was covered by the dispenser drawer in the recessed hole next to the drawer opening.

Open the door and insert a flat-bladed screwdriver into the notch at the bottom center of the control panel to release it.

Press and release the tab behind the right hand side of the control panel securing it to the cabinet.

Gently pry up and release the top of the control panel and pull it off the washer.

Pull the cycle selector knob off the control panel and release the tabs securing the user interface/LED assembly to the control panel. Lift the user interface/LED assembly from the control panel once all the tabs are released.

Install the new user interface/LED assembly into the control panel by inserting it into the tabs from one side to the other until it is completely secured.

Install the control panel on the washer and the top panel in reverse of the removal steps.

Note: Please specify the model number of your washer for the specific replacement parts.

Kenmore elite calypso doesn't respond to buttons except cancel

I've had a similiar problem on my calypso. In my case the key pad would go dead after washing or pushing stop after a few minutes. If I unpluged the unit for a few minutes it would work again. This would appear to be in the controller board. I removed the board and inspected it finding no problems. After re-installing the board the washer appears to be working again. My conclusion is that there is a loose connector/connection. I'd suggest you remove and re-install all the connectors on the controller board. This is the board closest to the power chord.

Good Luck, George S.

Whirlpool duet washer has stopped and the LED indicator says sud

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.
