How do I delete all the digital images on the chip in my Canon SD1200 IS with a "delete all"

You've apparently switched your camera to the widescreen mode. To switch to another mode, follow the instructions under "Changing the Recording Pixels (Image Size)" on page 65 of this manual.

There is no way you can delete the date stamp from the photos you have taken.
For future photos you can either correct the date or disable insertion of date stamp.

Unprotect them first. While viewing the picture, press [MENU] and select "Protect". Full details are in the "Protecting images" section of the manual (page 100 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one at

Switth should be on the outside of the memory card,very small switch.Another senario is the card is not fast enough for the camera ,check what class card your camera needs and compare write speeds of both,should say something like"class 2,or class 5" Good Luck

Just delete some pictures you have taken. You can use memory card reader to copy your pictures to computer and then delete some picturse or all of them. And you can delete pictures directly with your camera. On the back side you can find delete button it hase simbol of basket.

I have heard of this happening if the card was not formatted on your camera. Be sure you retrieve what you can from the card, then format it in your camera. It may solve your problem. The higher capacity SD mem chips (>2GB) sometimes don't display with some computers. I had to use a separate USB SD reader because the computer would not read the 4GB chip when I put it in the SD slot.

Use a USB card reader on your computer.

This camera is designed to store images and videos to a memory card, not to stream them to a computer. It cannot be used as a webcam.
