Could be the compressor.somtimes when they age you will hear a knocking or shaking sound.

If this is a new unit, by new i mean 5 yrs or less.It may need to be serviced.

Also cycling every 17 min is not a good sign.Could be overworking.Or low on freon. Bad start capacitor possibly.

True GDM-10 started making loud noise AFTER door was slammed after getting something inside; checked inside fan was running slow. Noise sound like something stuck in motor.

without knowing age of unit, I suggest replacing the motor. Sounds like the armature is worn the bearings and is moving inside the windings of the motor. I would do that first before moving forward with any other repairs.

A freezer compressor is what pumps chilled Freon -- or another cooling agent -- through coils that line the freezer compartment. ... The cooling agent inside the compressor is sensitive to being moved around, which can cause knocking noises. Also, loose components can cause knocking sounds.

My Kenmore refrigerator is making a loud noise when running and when it shuts off it makes a loud clunking noise. Also, it is running about every 10 minutes. The refrigerator is 7 years old.

it sounds like the compressor insides are loose and you will be needing a new compressor, but just check and make sure the rubber mounting feet on the outer compressor base where its mounted to the refrigerator base are all tight and the rubber shocks are all good

Loud knocking sound when in wash cycle GEWDSR2080

After taking off the front cover, look up at the top of the tub just under the lid. there should be a thick rubber strap at each corner of the machine tying in the tub to the top. These are called dampening straps. One or more may be broken. I usually replace all four if I do one.

Bosch Classixx 6 - tried washing a load on easy care which on normal cycle takes 48 min, the timer counts down for about 5 mins but doesn't sound like any water is being drawn in. After the 5 mins or so...

i have checked all my tech info and error codes only go to f 12!! never had f 17 but based on description sounds like either flow sensor or inlet valve failure will need service tech to sort out but if either of these will not be expensive.

check te rubber mounts at the bottom of the compressor
the rubber rots after some time and the compressor moves on shutting down as the knocking could be that noise
