I have a FFA60 Hotpoint Fridge Freezer which is around 3 years old. In the last couple of weeks it has developed a gurgling sound. I've looked at the manual and it implies that the sound is normal, gasses in the pipes. My question is why would this noise suddenly start after all this time and is there anything I can do about it.

gurgling is not unusual and is caused exactly by fluid bubbling thro a pipe.

This may be caused by a fanmotor touching something, or one of the copper tubes from the compressor causing a resonant frequency. If you touch the different tubes to find out which one is causing the noise and then slightly bend it with your fingers. That should stop the noise.

YES MODEL IS A JOKE, DISAPPOINTED GIVEN THE BRAND, MINE IS 4 YEARS OLD GURGLING ALL KINDS OF NOISES AS SPECIFIED AS "NORMAL" IE NOT FREEZING PROPERLY. FINALLY DECEIDED TO BUY A NEW ONE, NOT WORTH SPENDING MONEY ON REPAIRS THESE DAYS AS LIFE EXPECTANCY UNLIKELY TO GO BEYOND 5 YEARS.
