the filter cover sometimes gets distorted and the small plastic dimple which presses against the switch doesnt activate correctly, check the lamp cover switch also.
When you open the lamp cover for replacement of lamp there is a switch in the projector is OFF
If lamp cover not fix proper after replacement of lamp the lamp/cover indicator flashing
SOLUTION: Open the lamp cover and fix proper and tight the screw
Possible that the lamp is faulty -if the hours have elapsed- check the lamp holder, the fitments.
check also the filters, clean and reset.
Make sure the power supply Unit is not having any poor soldering or faulty components to reduce the voltage output to the lamp thus making it shut down..
1.unplug power cord 2.plug back in and it should be in stand by mode.(red light on) 3.do not power on 4.on remote push RESET,LEFT ARROW,RIGHT ARROW AND ENTER(do it in less than 5 seconds) 5.after you have done this power on and go to menu and it should show lamp hours 0 6.if it didn't work just do it again, it took me a couple of tries.
The green is the result of the blue device failing. Happens about 4000 hours or so. LCDs can't handle the heat. Check the scaling of the image of the second projector. 16x9 vs 4x3.
I have had the same problem with 3 Sony VPL-EX1s and Sony will not answer emails regarding the problem. Hence I wont be purchasing Sony projectors again.
