More info needed, do burners light? does fan come on?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Are you talking about the motor? The motor kind of sounds like a fan but at a higher pitch. There should be a cover on the motor to reduce the noise, maybe it is bent out of shape or just not on right. I need more details

This is what we call a "delayed ignition",(gas is not being ignited right away), gas builds up in the chamber and then lights causing a boom. The cause of this problem could be from having dirty burners or ignitor not position to ignite the gas right away or your ignitor may not being glowing enough to ignite the gas being released, check all, Good luck.

New A/C Unit makes loud noise when it starts up

It shouldn't be too loud. You don't explain where the noise is coming from? The air handler/furnace or the outdoor unit.

Our Goodman furnace just started making a a very loud grinding noise when the furnace turns on. Also the temperature in the house keeps dropping so we have to keep adjusting teh thermostat. Any advice on...

If it makes the noise before the blower comes on it would be the exhaust fan. If it makes the noise when the blower comes on then I would say either the blower motor or bearings to the fan.

Electrical buzzing sound in a/c, furnace

What you hear is the trnasformer that cuts the voltage from 120 to 24v for the thermostat and the furnace control system. Dpending on the frequency of the house current somedays it may hum louder than other days. This is nothing to be concerned about but can get annoying sometimes if your furnace is where you can hear it easily. I have not found and quick cure for it so unfortunately you will have to just deal with it.

Loud clicking, banging noise

We recently had the same problem. After cleaning both the furnace filter and the humidifier water panel, the clicking noise (electric air filter) and the loud bang went away.
