Some of my comcast digital channels are muted, while others are not.

Comcast was providing Cinemax and many other channels as part of your paid services and you will not receive these unless you are a subscriber. There is a good selection of free broadcast channels unless you live outside city areas. If you do, you will then need an external antenna and probably an amplifier to get more distant signals. Auto programming will not find the channels you were receiving from Comcast so there will be only accidental channel duplication; for example, if your former channel 10 was NBC, it may be channel 7 when receiving signal from an antenna.
There are essentially no more 'Analog' stations still broadcasting, they are now all 'Digital.' The abbreviations 'Std' refers to the aspect ratio (H/W) of the picture area and 'Hrc' and 'Irc' the available resolution or how many pixels and lines on the screen.

You will need to have a cable box to decrypt the channels.

Go in menu goto setup pick ch.setup pick cable rescan all channels

Comcast here. Most likely, the channels you need have been converted to a digital signal and now require a DTA (Digital Transport Adapter). jess_in_tene, Comcast, or for that matter most other universal remote controls are limited in their capabilities to control other devices! They will at best have only the basic three functions: ON/OFF, VOLUME up/down, Channel up/down, and maybe channel change by numeric keypad entry. Nothing More! The COMCAST set top cable box sends the CCs to the TV regardless. It does not have the capability of "striping-off" the CC information from the signal that enters the TV. You will need to find out who turned-on CC mode for the TV and WHAT remote they used to do it with. Please note that some TV's go directly to CC mode when the TV is in the MUTE mode. If none of the the codes work try following these steps:

1.manually turn on the t.v.
2.press and hold the setup button.
3. press and release the tv button the light will blink once and then stay on.
4.press the channel button repeatedly up to 300 times until the device changes channels. the light will blink and then stay lit.
5. press and release the mute button to store the code the light will go off

The RCA STB7766G1 does not support any cable or satellite connections.

you will need the adapter and the good news is, the box is free, the downside to this is the panasonic recorder is going to need to only record on channel 3 or 4(there is a switch on the back of the comcast box) and the comcast box will need to be on the channel the program is on. I.E. Panasonic recording channel 3 or 4 from 10-11 am comcast box on channel 55 during that time.

This TV comes with a dual tuner uhf/vhf in and digital antenna in .hook to digital antenna input and change input on remote to dtv hit menu and let it scan for channels.
