You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: looking for driver for canon SD 630

I'm guessing that you want to download photos from your camera and your running into software issues when you plug it in. But why put up with the headaches of bad software (and it is bad software) in the first place? Please see the following post, as it outlines a much easier, faster, and less error prone alternative way to download your photos:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2009/01/how-do-i-download-photos-or-pictures.html

But if you really want to go the cable route (I highly advise against it, too many problems this route), here's the Canon download page for your camera. Make sure you select your operating system in the little window to see the available drivers:

When was the last time that you replaced your rechargeable battery? It was only meant to last a couple years, regardless of the amount of its use. If the battery is old, a generic replacement is relatively inexpensive these days. Look for those rated 4 or 5 stars:

SOURCE: Formatted the camera and lost all my pics....is there any way to recover them?

It depends whether you did a "low level" format or not. Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for. I recommend the listed "PC Inspector Smart Recovery" using it in "Intensive" mode (Look in file menu/settings):

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

SOURCE: Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"

Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

How can I install my s51s without the cd

http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Consumer_Products/products/cameras/Digital_Compact/Powershot_S_series/PowerShot_S5_IS.aspx?type=download&page=1
I took a look on the site and I sow that only a software for to manage them is available ..and it seam that this is an updater and Im not sure it will work if you do not have the previous one ..but the good news is the lack of drivers...This means your camera is seen by the windows without a need for a driver ..so it has the driver built in windows..and even without this software you will be able to see the pictures into My computer folder under the removable drive ..(it will see the card in the camera or ..the camera itself by name ..Also you can use the windows autoplay wizard to download auto ..or just get in that folder and copy/paste the photos.

or

Download the "ZoomBrowser EX 6.3.1 free" @ http://www.brothersoft.com/zoombrowser-ex-download-253511.html and use the updates from Canon Support Site.

Card locked

So I got the same error message a few weeks ago. I bought a card reader and a software program that is supposed to recover lost/deleted/corrupt files but to no avail.

I have tried the SD card on my sister's camera (same Canon powershot) and it doesnt work. I have tried my sister's SD card on my camera and it does work so it is not my camera. It is clearly the SD card with an error.

What can i do, i cant lose these pics!!

Thanks anyone who might have an idea.

P.S. The SD card itself is UNLOCKED.

LOST CAMERA DESK

You don't need any installation disks with xp spk3, just plug usb cable to a usb port on pc, xp will detect mass storage device and will assign drive letter. Go to my computer and open camera drive letter and copy pictures to local folders. Or you can remove SD card and read with SD card reader. If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Official Canon Drivers and Software

Canon USA:DRIVER & DOWNLOADS

After downloading is finished, unplug the USB cable and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Kodak C643 died...

the pics on the memory card should still be fine.
you will have to purchase a memory card reader
they are inexpensive ,for example a usb memory sd reader goes for around 25.00
be sure it can read sd memory
the memory card is ejected next to the batteries.
http://www.dpinterface.com/reviews/canon-powershot-a430/canon-a430-side1.jpg

when you insert them in the reader it will read as another drive and you will see your pics.
