Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X679

My head unit does not play cd's any more. I believe the laser alignment is out of it. Doesn't read burnt or real cds. i put a cd in and it will spit it back out and say TOC error. I live in phoenix and dont know what shop can do it in the area. Any Ideas? And how much it usually cost? Kenwood said 40 to 80 dollars

Would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Need wiring diagram for Kenwood KDC-X679 CD receiver for my 1997 Chevy truck

The manual for the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X679 has the wiring diagram for the connections to the car/truck on page 33. Crutchfield has the manual on the product page: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-FpCU7SY0yQm/p_113KDCX679/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X679.html . (Click on the Details tab.) The direct link to the manual is http://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20050828082600/Manuals/113/113KDCX679.PDF .

Kenwood also has the manual on their support page: http://manual.kenwood.com/en_contents/search/ . Just enter the model number. On this site, you can find the manual is several languages. The direct link to the English version of the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/B64-2764-00.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I just put my old Kenwood KDC-X679 deck in a friends car and the radio works but the cd player and aux won't play audio

take the blue/white wire coming from the radio and tie that in with your solid blue wire coming from the radio and which is connected to whichever wire in the car. So in total you'll have 3 wires at a connector.

I just bought a 1994 bmw. I need a code to access my kenwood kdc-x679 excelon player. The previous owner doesn't know the code,

You can enter a 4-digit security code which must be used when the unit is removed from the vehicle, or the constant power source is disconnected from the unit. When constant power is restored to the unit, the security code must be entered before the unit becomes operational.
If the code is lost or forgotten I am afraid the unit has to go to a Kenwood dealer for re-coding.

TOC Error

Burned ones? Or do "real" CDs do it, too? If ALL do, then the laser was damaged or misalligned and will have to be serviced.
