Stove is a smooth cooking surface, there was a poping sound from stove which thru the circuit breaker. Turned breaker back on and the burners work but there is no clock or oven temperature contols and so can not turn on oven. Is there a control panel that went out?
One of the stoves does not work. What could be the problem and how to fix it?
Thanks
Frigidaire electric stove, burners work oven does not
Sounds like the Clock Control panel, and the reason I say this is that we've had the same issue with our Frigidaire stove. Once just past the 1 year mark and again at the 3.5 year mark.
Very expensive as the part is $160-$180 plus service call, plus labour. Very bad design, on Frigidaire's part, as there should be some type of surge protection built in.
But they don't build things the way they used to, and what a joke it is, these 'Engergy Star' appliances. They are built so poorly that any money you may have saved on energey, you more then make up for on repair bills.
For example, we've spent $500 on repairs in the past 4 years, which is probably 10 X more then what we've saved on energy with our 'Energy Star* Frigidaire stove.
This time, however, we're installing 'Whole Home Surge Protection' on our electrical panel, so hopefully the Clock Control panel doesn't fry again.
I was told the Clock Control panel went out on my Frigidaire electric stove. There was a loud pop and the oven and display quit working but the burners worked. I looked around and found you can order the unit at sears for $98.63 and it looks pretty simple to install. So we will install the part and sell the stove and get away from the Frigidaire brand. Also, when we took the panel out there was no sign of any burn so I guess we were lucky the breaker blew.
I will never buy a Frigidaire product again...No sooner than the warranty goes so does the stove. What a joke They should have surgesor some type of reset build in.
