My stackable washer-dryer recently quit. The breaker in house electrical box had shorted out and was replaced. NOW dryer comes on but does not heat. Washer will not come on unless dryer is on and then after tub fills with water it does not progress to agitating. If dryer is turned off while washer is filling, washer stops. I currently have a tub full of water and clothes and Sears can't come out untill February 18th. Help! Can I tackle this myself and, if not, what might I expect from Sears when they do come out in addition to the $64 house call charge? Thanks.
You got a problem with your power supply for sure. check and make sure both your breakers are on inside the fuse box. turn them completely off and them back on(there should be 2 linked together for this unit. if that ok try to gt behind the unit and check the incoming power source(make sure wiring on rear of dryer is in tact. def sounds like inadequate power supplied to unit
Hello cbrhonda125 - Try resetting the unit dryer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. Restart unit and if it proves to be ineffective, there are multiple possible causes; faulty power cord, house wiring, defective control board, thermal limiter or door switch. This is something that a professional would need to properly diagnose.
