I would say no based on the Canon website information.

You could contact Canon to verify, and they might have a firmware upgrade to allow use of high capacity storage cards.

Canon sd600 wont read 16gb memory card

No. The SD600 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. It will not work with SDHC cards such as your 16GB card.

I have a Cannon PowerShot SD600. An 8G SD memory card is not working; what is the maximum capacity for this camera? Is there a way to upgrade it or do I have to stick with a small memory card? Thanks

The SD600 uses MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card, which is electronically incompatible and will not work in the SD600.

Camera wont recognize 8GB mem card.

The SD600 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller with this camera.

A Canon SD 1300 IS camera can handle the following memory cards
SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus Card, HC MMC Plus Card

Short answer yes your camera can handle a SDHC memory card but personally I wouldn't go over 4gig

I have a cannon power shot SD600. I bought a memory card, and the camera says memory card error. I can't even fomat the card because the function won't high light.

Did you get an SDHC card? The SDHC protocol was developed after the SD600 came out, and the SD600 is not compatible with it. Use SD cards with a maximum of 2GB storage capacity.

Will my Canon SD600 suport a SDHL flash memory card?

I assume you mean SDHC.

The SD600 was designed to use SD cards. The SDHC specification is backward compatible, meaning that SD cards will work in SDHC devices, SDHC cards will not work in SD devices. This is a hardware incompatibility, not updatable in firmware.

Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

My canon sd600 is not reading PNY sdhc memory card. msg says card is locked. it's clearly not locked

HC or High Capacity is not compatible with this camera. You have to buy a memory card which says only "SD" and NOT "SDHC". Cards of 2Gb and less are usually "SD". Cards of 8Gb and more are always "SDHC" for technical reasons. Cards of 4Gb can be either, but the SDHC kind are much more common, because they're cheaper and newer.

Sd600 poweshot can it take a 4gb or 8gb memory card? i was planning to buy duracell SDHC 4GB card with 10MB /sec transfer speed

No, unfortunately the SD600 was designed before SDHC format cards were introduced. The max card size that you should buy for your camera is 2GB standard SD. If you look around very hard, and if you're very lucky, you may still be able to find a 4GB standard SD card. But these are rare these day (everyone has gone to SDHC at that size card), and it will be at premium price.
