Before you give up on the camera:

There are many setting that can affect whether the flash works or not.
You may have inadvertently set something that is stopping the flash from working.

Get out your User Manuals and use the index at the back of the book.
Look for something about "Resetting the camera".

This will reset the camera to factory specifications.
Then see if the flash works.

If that does not work ... recharge the battery and try again.

If that does not work, the flash is likely dead

Flash 380EX with EOS 40D and 18-55 Canon lens. At all zoom positions under 55mm the flash is too weak and the pictures are underexposed. At 55 mm flash works fine. Pushing "*" button does NOT...

You may need to adjust the flash exposure compensation about 1 stop or try 1 stop and if it's still not enough go a stop and a third. What's happening is the flash is being dispersed over a much wider field of view and the fall off is so much greater then at 50mm which the beam is narrower. The 380 EX works well from 35mm through 135mm. After that it still works if you are in close say 20 to 30 feet.

Turn signal lights stop working. Neither the right or left turn signal work. Heard a noise before it stop working. The flashing started slowing down and stop blinking. Now it doesn't work at all. What

most likely its the turn signal relay. which is under the hood. in the fuse box. also make sure ur running lights are working if they are connected to the turn signal.

Fujifilm FinePix 3800 flash will not work

Normally when the flash stops working it is because the capacitor the camera uses to store the flash power ( that is what charges..not the bulb) burns out. This is a very difficult repair and should only be completed by a camera technician.
If the repair is over 10 dollars I would suggest a new camera.
