You should be able to got to the Devices section and open up the listings. Look for Ethernet. Right click in the line under Ethernet, and seek UPDATE DRIVERS. It will look on the internet for you and automatically download the new drivers.
a win98 machine will likely have a rg-45 plug in the back, it's unlikely that may come with wireless network card. just use a straight through cable (the typical network cable) to physically connect the win98 machine to your linksys router, if you don't have any special security on your router, your win98 should be connected after a few seconds.
if you are getting a network card (possilby wireless): install a network card on your windows 98 computer. if you're buying one make sure in the package says that it is supported by win98 (most are supported in win2k, xp, vista and 7 now so look closely before buying),
if you already have a network card and you are trying to install it, look for proper drivers from the network card manufacturer (drivers need to match model number and operating system(win98)). install your network card as per indicated in package or website if you are downloading drivers.
if you are connecting wirelessly, assuming that drivers are properly connected look in the network manager you just installed and look for the network name for your linksys router (whatever you configure that to be when your first install the linksys router) and attemtp to connect providing a password or any security requested.
No software is required or supplied for this product . You just have
to plug it in your PC's USB port and it will appear as another drive in
"Computer".
To copy or save songs, double-click on the drive icon and do it just like you would save to a hard drive.
To remove from PC, look for the small USB icon near the system clock, left-click on it and select "Safely Remove".
I'm assuming you actually want to format the mp 3 player. To do that plug into computer click computer right click the drive the mp is plugged into and press format. All data would be deleted.
Just patch up Windows 98 and you get USB filesystem drivers up to a certain size. You can look on the flash drive maker's site for particulars on fancier USB pen drives (e.g. with fingerprint authentication etc.) and perhaps drivers. Otherwise you get to use a VM on a modern machine to move files where the Win98 environment can see them.
Im afraid your out of luck. Unless the printer or storage device you are using came with one or you can get them for their support website that is the only way.
