The base is working as when someone calls, the LED light is lighting up accordingly. My problem is with the handset. The screen almost all the time is ON and it does not ring. I tried buying a new battery and the experience is the same. When I put in the battery, the screen turns ON (which it should not and was not like this when I bought it) and there's a hissing/buzzing sound from the handset speaker. Keys don't function. Please help.

My phone is making a lot of noise and static on in coming call so bad I can't talk. out going I can't make. I put in the number to dial call does not go through ,but I can hear the dial tone. do I need a new battery or is there something wrong with the phone itself.
