Compatibility I just bought a DVD-VR357. When I got home I found that my tv was not compatible. Is there anything I can do short of buying a new tv.

Check if the record lock of the tape has not benn removed..

If exact model is Samsung DVD-VR357, than it doesn't even has to recognise blank disc as your unit is DVD PLAYER with Video Casette Recorder.

Unfortunately you have player only and you won't be able to recor DVDs with it whatsoever.

Are you trying to copy a comercial VHS tape to DVD?
If you are then macrovision copy protection system on either the tape or in the machine is the reason for the loss of colour.
There's not a lot you can do about it. If you want to copy commercial material you will need to transfer it to a computer and get a program to do it. But unless it's unavailable it is cheaper to buy the DVD version I have found and you will get better picture and sound too!
If it does it with a none comercial tape (ie something recorded of the TV). Then it could be a head fault or something else. In which case try cleaning all the heads guides etc first.

if it has component (red, blue, green) cables, plug one set into dvd player's "in's" and tv sets "out's'. you may have to play with the tv channels to be able to watch movie. you just change channels, go from "3" backward until you find a picture and sound.

have you bought the new disc's from stores cause cd's and dvd's come in new format which is forcing people to buy new players if old dvd's worked on dvd player and new ones dont then its the dvd i had to by new dvd player the other night cause im startin my collection dvd's back bought a movie and bam didnt work no disc
you can hook the line direct into a vcr audio and video and it works with out the R.f's adapter

Of course, since the drivers needed should be compatible with Vista... that's the problem on Vista, it still has a lot of problems with the drivers of old peripherals.

Visit Vista website and find a compatible driver or ask on their online help desk on what to do with your printer;s driver....

direct to tv always best picture ok hdmi then sound from tvs digital outputs to input on your digital reciver ok

I don't know a whole lot about electronic equipment, but I've never seen anything connected in so many ways at the same time. Maybe the antenna and one other type of connection. The different signals from all the connections are probably confusing each other. I would try one connection at a time to see if the problem improves. Good Luck.
